Hi Michael
Welcome to lymenet.

Texas is notorious for being hostile to Lyme Doctors.
They keep saying there's no Lyme in Texas but according to the lastest tick activity map, you guys are in a full blow epidemic!

Here is a link to support groups in Texas.
Please contact them about doctors in your area.
They will give you feedback on various doctors treatments and successes. You must research each Doctor. It will make a difference between getting well or just wasting your time and money.

Please utilize lymenet's search engine to educate yourself on Tick Born Infections.
Feel free to post any questions you may have.
Lymenet members are the very smartest warriors you will find on the planet.
We will help you anyway we can.
Good luck.
Keep us posted.

I sent a PM to Michael with info about ILADS LLMDs in Texas, but so far no response.

Also, I want to inform the Lymenet moderators that we do have 5 ILADS LLMDs in Texas now -- 3 in the greater Austin area, one in Houston and one in Denton (north of DFW area) -- because I do not visit Lymenet on a regular basis anymore, but only just when I am looking for answers on special topics which are unfamiliar to me.

BTW, Texas is no longer hostile to LLMDs anymore -- not since 2011 when we succeeded in passing protective legislation for our LLMDs. However, the perception among most Texas doctors has NOT changed regarding fear of the TMB because they are unaware of this 2011 amendment to state laws.

Also, here's a link to our TxLyme Yahoo forum (aka: TxLDA Yahoo) for persons who do not have any support group in their local area.
