I've been dealing with Chronic Lyme for the past 30 years.
I was lucky enough to have found a LLMD PCP that took my insurance and was on Doxy for about a year and a half back in 2010. I was in remission for a period of time, but then relapsed. Unfortunately this doctor retired and i pursued treatment with an ILADS 'top doc' who financially bled me dry.
I swore I'd never go back to another quack, and just pull up my bootstraps and get through it, but I find now that I'm a mental basket-case and really need help again.
Is there a LLMD in the NY Tri-State area that one my recommend to me? I'd even be willing to travel further if there were a strong enough recommendation.
It's so hard to distinguish between the good and bad doctors out there, and I feel as if I have no ground to stand on.

Welcome to Lyment JAS01
Sorry you have been sick for so long. Single Doxy therapy for Lyme is not the recommended treatment according to the International Lyme and Assiciated Diseases Society (ILADS) guidelines. Also consider, it's never just Lyme, co-infections must be addressed also.
Read the most referred to Diagnostic Lyme treatment here ;
You must become your own health care advocate. Research any doctor before becoming a patient. Most LLMD's incorporate multiply antibiotic combinations, supplements, diet, herbs, and exercise among others.
Also watch "Under Our Skin" a documentary on the struggles Lyme patients face while trying to find treatment here ;
If you have any questions, feel free to post, and Lyment's many educated and compassionate volunteers will reply with their experiences. Utilize Lymenet's 'search' function for research. We will help you anyway we can.
I will send you a private message. To 'see' your p.m., click on 'my profile' located in the middle of Lymenet's home page.
Good luck to you on your healing journey.
