We have a great naturapath treating us for lyme, but we need a PCP since out last doctor lost her license for treating lyme. It would be really nice to have one who doesn't tell us are all wrong.

- As lyme friendly MDs / PCPs, etc. are likely to want to stay low key lest they run into trouble from their bosses, office managers, etc., even calling offices can be tricky.
You might connect with the leaders of any local lyme support groups within a reasonable distance to you -- & to your state support group leader for possible lyme friendly PCPs that they or members might recommend.
Just be sure these groups are ILADS "minded". Your LL ND might know of a good PCP, too (though likely you've already inquired).
As you sound happy with your LL ND, even if you don't engage a LLMD near you, you might call each of their offices to ask if they might know of either lyme friendly (or lyme tolerant) PCPs who could help you with this part of it all.
Good luck. -

Welcome to Lymenet! PM sent with name of LLMD (not PCP) in ME.
In my experience, LLMDs will not be PCPs, because they are specialists. I do not know of any "Lyme-friendly" PCPs in Maine. Contact the Maine Lyme Support Groups I have given you below.
You need to be evaluated and treated by a Lyme-literate doctor (LLMD). Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are.
Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H, titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and "How Can I Get Better". They are an excellent source of information.
Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Get it at your local library or buy it used on Amazon.
