Live near Sheboygan WI, but willing to travel to Upper Michigan. Minnesota, Iowa, or Illinois.
Received diagnosis ten months ago from Urgent Care clinic dr. before graduating HS. Been seeing local naturopath. Mother may help pay for a more mainstream doctor, but I personally don't make lots of $$$
Was pressured into going back to school in fall and am willing to throw everything I got at beating Lyme.

Welcome to Lymenet LymeLiz
You need to be seen by a LLMD, Lyme Litterate Medical Doctor. LLMD'S specialize in Tick Borne Infections. Unfortunately, mainstream doctors are not trained in Lyme disease and co-infections.
Many LLMD'S do not participate in insurances. Find out why here;
You must research each doctor referral sent to you. To do this, you can join your area's Lyme support groups. Members in these support groups share their first-hand knowledge and experiences with your area's LLMD'S. Here is your area's support groups;
You need to be evaluated and treated by a LLMD. Non LLMDs have no clue about this horrible disease or its complex treatment!
A LLMD is one who has treated Lyme disease and the co-infections which come with it for many years and has gotten patients well. A good one will follow Dr. B's Guidelines, the "gold standard" for Lyme treatment.
Unfortunately, LLMDs are far and few between. You need to go where they are. At least half of all Lyme patients go out-of state for proper care.
Also, most LLMDs do not accept insurance due to the politics surrounding this horrible disease. Read poster TF's explanation, "Why Lyme Doctors Don't Take Insurance":
Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H, titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.
Also read "Cure Unknown" by Pamela Weintraub. Check the local library or buy it used on Amazon.
