Looking for "Lyme friendly" PC docs near Albany, specifically Clifton Park/Halfmoon if possible.
I have recently moved back into the area. My only experience with 2 different PC docs here about 10 years ago was that they were very Lyme unfriendly, so I know who not to go to, LOL.
I am more or less asymtomatic now, so I am mainly interested in the doctor being receptive to the prescribing of doxy for prophylactics (20 days worth vs one lousy pill), and sleep issues (I still take ambien regularly for good sleep).
Thanks.

I sent you a PM with a provider, but I am also searching for a Dr to work with my provider in the area.

Very tough task indeed. Many primary's want nothing to do with the prescriping of long-term antibiotics. They will help with the sleep problems though.
My best learning lesson about Lyme Disease was provided by my LLMD. I was evaluated for over 3 hours. I was so very, very ill. More testing. A treatment protocol was made. Then a call was made to my primary. I was allowed to listen to their conversation. Real eye-opener.
Everything was explained in great detail. My LLMD was trying to save my life and get me insurance covered treatment. While the conversation was cordial, my primary said professionally, he would not feel comfortable partaking in my protocol and explained why.
I wish it wasn't this way but that's just the way we are treated unfortunately. I hold both my doctors in esteem regard because of their professional courtesy toward each other even though it didn't work out for me.
P.S. Alberton Are you requesting a LLMD?

Read the books written by the top LLMD, Dr. H, titled, "Why Can't I Get Better?" and "How Can I Get Better?". They are an excellent source of information.

I'm not requesting a LLMD, just wanting to see if there is a PCP who at least is reasonable WRT prophylactic doxy prescriptions and sleep meds...I know 2 PCP here that fully believe in the WB tests results, and said I didn't have Lyme disease.
Background: After a few years of heavy abx starting in 2010, I had gotten pretty well. I have seen Dr B in NY, NP S and Dr G in CA in the past and have been treated well by them.
