Trying to recover from some family drama. Hoping that is over with. Don't have contact with family in general. Need to keep it that way. Enough is enough.

So, able to fill out a bit of the housing form that is due on Monday.

yesterday, I was able to walk into a small store and pick out a card for a friend. Really unusual for me to be able to do this.

it was not easy and will most likely think twice about doing it again.

I even have trouble when I am in my power chair trying to pick out a card. Something to do with the vision and processing of what I am looking at.

So, I have to wait until I get that window of opportunity...which is rare.

Picking up cards to send to people was one thing that I use to like to do and miss not being able to do now.

Got some money for my birthday from friends so ordered a swim suit for water therapy. I had been wearing one that I purchased in the 70's.

Ordered it on line so hoping it will fit and I will be able to use it in the creeks around here this summer.

need to pay physical therapy and schedule water therapy sessions for this month.

Also able to call the company I order the isocort from and hopefully have that on auto ship now.

I have had trouble with them in the pass and had trouble again when I restarted it last month.

But, it does seem to be helping a bit.

Able to address an envelope and get the card in the mail today. Put the return address in the stamp area so just added the stamp underneath.

Able to write the rent check this month without help.

Able to empty a bit of the dishes from the dishwasher. Hoping to finish the job later today and get the dirty dishes in.

Need to make sure I eat more today. The past two days I have not gotten enough in me due to being so weak which is a cycle...as not eating makes me weak too and then I also do not sleep at night.

Noticed the charger for my power chair is barely working. That explains why I just charged the power chair and it is running low too quickly.

So, I will need to see about getting a new charger out of next month's budget.

I assume if it was the fuse it would not work at all.

time to ask the wheel chair man on line.

OK That is about it for now.

One more thing. Able to watch two movies yesterday.

I have had these movies from netflix for over a week and could only watch bits and pieces.

finally able to watch all of them yesterday.

Amelia and Coco. Enjoyed both.

Difficult to keep getting up when we are knocked down...but staying down is not an option and we do have some good moments....sometimes minutes

did you figure out whats wrong with your power chair?

Have you eaten better and got your strength back?

I to have put the address in the wrong place, makes it special that way, and confuse the post office, keep them on there toes.

Hope all is better for you.

Diane

Still weak Diane but thanks for asking.

Eating better though.

Thanks for reminding me about the charger on the power chair. Time to charge them again.

Whatever was slowing the charger down finally stopped and the light went from yellow to green.

I heard from the person and they got the card so the PO was on their toes. [Smile]

Thanks Melissa...I know this is slow going but I also look back and know I am able to do things now i was not able to do before.

For example:

I recently finally worked out how to get out the apartment door and have Rosie on her leash.

Can't recall how long i have lived here...3 or 4 years.

But, until recently, I would tell Rosie to go through first and then I would go out the door in my power chair.

I would put her on leash once I got to the main door way to the outside.

Or if my brain was working well enough I would tell her to wait in the hallway and then hook her up.

But, most of the time just getting out the door was all I brain could handle.

Now, I am able to go to the door in the power chair, tell her to wait, hook the leash on her collar, tell her to go through and get out the door.

A brain thing..but the brain seems to be doing better than it was.

Also able to put leash around my neck, keys around my neck, put coat on, get gloves and then get into power chair to get out the door.

I have stopped the step of putting Rosie's vest on unless we are going into a store.

It takes a lot of multi tasking just to get out the door...oh yes...sunglasses too.

I know a health person would not even think twice about these things and take them for granted.

I use to accomplish so much more when I was well and working before I went out the door to work.

I have jumper cables if you need a jump!LOL

what kind of dog is Rosie? Kam, sounds to me like you are still accomplishing alot.

When I try to go out the door I go into this time warp...put my shoes on, go pee, put the clothes in the dryer so they will be dry when I get back, get a drink for the road, get my purse,

think for a moment......???? close the door, walk like a snail, look up ...God only knows how long my family has been sitting in the van waiting on me!!!

Diane....glad you understand what it is like to do what use to be the simplest of things that we just automatically did.

Sorry too.

Rosie is a standard poodle. I had a lab before her. The standard poodle is working out much better as a service dog.

I didn't quite know what to think of standard poodles before I got her.

All I knew about them was the two that were in the yard of a Victorian house where I use to live. They had the fancy cuts to them and to me did not really look like my impression of dogs.

I keep Rosie's hair cut short via the groomer as I am not able to groom her myself or brush her every day or even once a week for that matter.

So, the short hair cut works well.
