My 24 year old son left this evening for a 1 year deployment to a war zone.

I am proud, but very sad.

I miss him already.

I wish I could fast forward one year.

He is my only son.

I could really use some support right now.

Thanks.

PM me his name and I'll put him on my prayer list. I can also add him to our church's list.

I'm sorry that he is gone. That's got to be VERY tough on the family and especially MOM!

Hugs to you and yours!

My heart goes out to you.

Praying God's protection surrounds him.

He is the "God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation." (2 Cor. 1:3-4) I pray He is that to you for this year.

Dekrator48 I'm a mom and I can't imagine how you feel. I know you're proud and rightly so. He is very brave and America is the great country it is because of men like him.

We are blessed that you've shared such personal information with us and privileged to be able to pray. Many people are praying for your precious son.

You know I have my camouflage bear right on the living room table next to where I sit. See it everyday and pray for him and you too.

May God put guardian angels around him and protect him, watching over his every step, bringing him back home safely. My brother had three deployments to the war zone and is back home safe. God speed to your son.

May God give you His peace.

Thanks pab.

I wish I could go to sleep and wake up in a year...as long as someone pumped my antibiotics into me while I was asleep.

Thanks for the hugs.

Actually, I was wondering why you hadn't sent me his name! lol

Feelfit... I'd be happy to add your nephew to my list too. Like daisy said, "It's a privilege to be able to pray for him!"

Thank you so much for the sacrifice your family is making for our country.

My nephew was in the Middle East for six months and I know that it is very hard on a family.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

daisy,

Thanks for cheering me on. My body lacks enthusiasm right now.

Thanks for the PM too, I appreciate it.

kidsgotlyme,

Thank you for your gratitude and prayers. We can use all the prayers we can get!

Dave,

Thanks for your prayers. I do feel very proud of my son. I didn't want him to join but he wanted to.
I knew he had grown up far more than I realized when he went to the microphone at his going-away party to thank his girlfriend for planning the party and to thank everyone for coming.......then he pulled a ring out of his pocket, got down on one knee and proposed to her in front of everyone!

He makes me proud.

Thanks daisy, It made my heart melt when he did that.

I felt so blessed to witness such a special moment.

His fiancee is a really nice girl. She is very down to earth, and doesn't like to spend alot of money on "stuff". She is just a real family person.

I told her I will be very happy to have her as my daughter-in-law.

I take alot of pictures and I was working 2 cameras when this was all happening....a digital camera and video camera...so I have it all captured so I can go back and look at it anytime.

I have some really sweet pictures of them saying good bye also when he was leaving Friday evening for his deployment.
