well it may be related to lyme...

statistics show that 40,000 bathroom injuries occur yearly because people don't check to see if the toliet seat cover is up or down.

injuries range from broken tailbones to ruptured discs and hip injuries.

so for us lyme patients, we better remember to check and see if the guys put the lids down!!!

some people prefer all lids closed.

some prefer first ring down.

some prfer both lids up.

All for various reasons, some of which are pet related.

For men you WANT us all to raise all and aim well.

For women you prefer first lid down, lid open ready to go.

IF men are expected to raise the ring,,,shouldnt women be expected to lower the ring when needed??

Not to say men never forget to put it down and fall in themselves,,,it happens.

I think a household compromise is BEST solution,,,it is just a habit of sorts.

If you cant agree on required position go with both lids closed, problem solved.

If you have pets you want to stay OUT of the water closed is only solution.

Saying that I have seen potty trained cats that need lid open to use it as a litter box.

So long story short there are no solid answer to how it SHOULD be,,just what is best for YOUR household.

If both parties in a 2 people house cant agree and help each other out to how it is,,well I guess they dont care about one another much.

Same as leaving dirty laundry laying around etc., not a real reason for that either. Dirty hits the washer basket. Good enough to wear again, hung on hook or least doorknob.

Life is just a series of compromises,,on BOTH parts of a marriage/arrangement.

Sometimes respect is EARNED and not an acciident.

Resolved, it's to much work to sit down, when we don't have too...

Life is so much simpler when you are a guy.

Put the cover down and then nothing can accidentally drop into the toilet. Also, who wants to look at a toilet bowl? Yuck.

Ring up or down, at least both genders can agree that either is better than "sitting" on the lid!
