So my new rheumatologist is working me up for rheumatoid arthritis and prescribed plaquenil. Based on my postive lyme WB and history, she wanted to put me on either mino or doxy but I am allergic.

SO, she repeats the lyme WB which BIG SUPRISE is still positive IGM. She calls and says I need to see an ID. Plus I have c diff (lovely) [toilet]

So I call the IDiot she refers me to and they say "oh, yeah...Dr IDiot does not see lyme patients" "He refers them to the health department!" When I asked why she said "because of the psychological aspect of the disease!" [loco]

Perhaps they meant to say "because we dont know what to do about lyme so we just pretend you are crazy and the problem goes away"?

The only psychological aspect of the disease I have is trying to get help to treat it and the fact only the LLMD's know anything about it.

Yeah...like the health department would know what the heck to do with chronic lyme and c diff! Chances are if they can not diagnosis it they surely cant treat it.

Lymetoo...I am going to see Dr C in Florida in 2.5 weeks. He is IDSA, but recognizes that lyme is not cured in 4 weeks.

It is incredibly disturbing though that even if you do test + for lyme, now the IDiots will not even see you. How do they live with themselves?
Unbelievable!

I'm apalled and amazed at the ignorance connected to Lyme. This is insane. I'd like to take the original post and put it on my Arklatex Lyme web page, if that's okay. I would not use your name, just put in quotes. Is that okay, Kimmie? I won't use names either, just what the IDiots said.

"because of the psychological aspect of the disease!"

WHAT AN IDIOT!!!!

Why not send you to a foot doctor for a tooth ache too? Or an ob/gyn for your joint problems?

Or heck, even the local plumber or bank president would do a better job than that IDiot!!

This is one for the gator pit!!!!

TuTu... can you bring up the gator pit please dear?

Dr. C is ILADS and also happens to be a member of IDSA. He's one of the rare Infectious Disease drs who is LL and even founded a non-profit to pay for those of us who are sick and dying and can't afford treatment. You're in good hands, Kimmie.

Can someone PM me Dr. C in Florida's info? I have an Aunt in Pensacola that should see this doc. She's had both knees and both hips replaced. Has been complaining of fatigue lately.

I have been having trouble getting a home health care nurse coming to change my dressing. Once they come and they find it is Lyme, they scurry away. The company that is finding me these places blames me for them running out. Sooooooooooooo, today I get a call from the company, she calls me Mrs______instead of my first name. Proceeds to say..WE NEED to talk. She goes on to explain. What the rules are for the new company coming out. She says, YOU are not to say anything, do YOU understand? do YOU understand??? Humiliated, discouraged and add sick on top I mumble yes repeatedly.
I think some places prey on our fragile state. Both in the way we are treated and what they say to us. I also know this place is charging me more, just too sick to shop it out. I know there are good people working with Lyme, but then some are too rotten for the alligator pit
