I rented that DVD from a local library and its such AMAZING documentary. My sister watched it with me and she was SHOCKED at how misunderstoood lyme disease is.

I'm glad its on television and stuff now. It will get the word out to people!

I am afraid to watch this for some reason. Like, I don't want to hear more about how awful this disease is, even though I know, I just don't want to hear it out loud, if that makes sense.

--------------------
First Symptom 9/09
Multiple docs, negative Labcorp test
LLMD: 1/10
Positive Igenex/CDC test
Treatment 2/10
2/10-8/10 Amox, ceftin, zith, flagyl
Currently: Bicillin, Minocycline, still dealing with severe breathing issues

Don't be afraid. It is wonderful. There are people in it that were in terrible terrible shape...much worse than me. And they all got better.

I think it would **** you off more than it would scare you. They go into how doctors who are saving lives...when no one else will... are attacked and how these IDSA quacks are on a witch hunt.

It just helps people understand the controversy a little better. How and why Lyme is being poo poo'd ( $$$$ ).

I can second that it angered more than scared me.

Though it did scare and upset my mother--poor thing already feels terrible and blames herself no matter what I say.

It took 20 years to find out I'm not crazy.
New bite in 2010 pushed my body over the edge. Positive for lyme, babs, bart, and myco.
I am not a doctor and happily offer only my own opinions.

I just sent it off to someone...

I know it's been out there a while...but had no idea it was

available on Netflix !

I was wondering why I only got 1 response !

I think it is a decent overview for those with some basic "lyme"

knowledge but who don't yet understand the undercurrents...

It does provoke anger and sadness...but also incredible hope...

that is its strength !

I originally thought I could get my friends to watch it to educate

them and help them understand my situation...but sadly...none

of them wanted to see it...so...it is still up for grabs here...for the

cost of postage... [Smile]

I ordered it when I first got sick and watched it. Then I was scared. Now if I try to watch it, I feel profoundly sad. Anger is in there too, but mostly I get very uncomfortable (I swear I have PTSD from Lyme!! [Smile] )and very, very sad.

I found it a bit scary because they eluded to the fact that people only get better with antibiotic treatment and if they don't have it, they can suffer terrible diseases..

As good and interesting as the movie was, in retrospect, I kind of wish I hadn't watched it. I would recommend it for doctors and family members and friends who don't understand the illness but for someone going through it, I found it a bit depressing. Not everyone gets better with antibiotics.

This is just my opinion.

It has happened twice that I gave the film to people that were suspecting they had lyme with a plethora of symptoms.

After they watched the film they went into denial and decided they didn't have lyme.

I don't get it. Maybe it was the high cost of treatment that scared them off? I would think living with an untreated disease that could turn into ALS would be scarier
