My very unhealthy brother moved into an apt a year ago. He wondered why he had this rash(or so he called it) on his body.
Finally his body couldn't handle all the whatever that bedbugs supposedly don't blood suck and put in others.
I went over to see him 3 weeks ago and I seen his rash from head to toe. I went nuts asking him what it was. He didn't know. I made him call his doc for appt. Not till middle of June?
They said go to ER. My brother is diabetic, on oxygen, COPD and heart troubles with poor poor total health.
I made him go to ER. You can't mess around with a rash total body and itching like crazy with serious issues like he has.
ER has no idea what's wrong. Pump him with steroids, of course and give him rx's for 2 more steroids and stay on benedryl OTC.
That night his girlfriend (?) gets ready to climb in his bed and freaks out. My brother freaks out and has spend the last weeks sleeping on his couch.
Like they're not in his couch. He finds out the renters before him skip out on landlord because the landlord refuses to treat bedbugs.
Landlord tells my brother he won't pay for treatment. Health dept tells my brother the landlord has no choice. The apt building is 8 units.
My brother can't move out with his belongings full of bedbugs. Big to do with landlord threating other tenants not to tell my brother about past bedbug problems in building.
It's nasty gang. My brother called pest control companies and they refuse to do his apt without landlord saying he will pay. If landlord writes letter of consent for my brother to treat and pay out of his pocket.....it's $800 for Orkin and several treatments.
If neighbors have bedbugs, complete waste of money until the whole building is treated. What a nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!

The orange essential oil, Orange Guard - in stores, or TKO Orange concentrate (orderable: www.organicorangetkocal.com - no financial affiliation)
can kill them on impact and keep them away just by spraying around the entire room and where we are, including the bed and other furniture.
It has a pleasant orange smell, which dissipates in about a half hour's time with window or door open.
It's biodegradable, so needs to be applied at least daily, I'd say.

Robin, it would take a gallon alone just on his bed. Believe me if I say this when something grosses my brother out? It would sicken us to see it.
