I was wondering if anyone out there has any food recommendations for keeping one's weight up? With lyme it seems that some people gain a considerable amount, others lose. I have definitely lost some, and I am sure this has something to do with diet.
Currently I do NOT eat: sugars, processed foods, etc. Basically I'm eating super healthy. Anything I can eat that is not too fatty but will keep weight on?
Thanks!

my husband has lost a lot of weight, he is down to 135lbs, very concerning
I just took him to KFC and he ate three pieces of chicken. Not super healthy but better than more weight loss.

I have no idea what to do. I was 103lbs (5'6")but think I have lost some more because my clothes seem baggier and I am afraid to weigh myself. I am not being treated and not on any diet, I just have a problem eating. I am always nauseous and just smelling food makes me ill. When I do eat it is full fat, sugar-full, high calorie and I still cannot gain.
If anybody figures out how to do it let us know...

what about protien mixes?
they make different kinds (if you have food allergies you can find one thats right for you) look at the ingreients dome have sugar some dont.
they make whey, brown rice, pea, and probaly others
if you are well enough you could also juice. I am too sick to have the juicer running in the house but when i could I had a jack lelane and it is awsome.
you said not to fatty...so i am assuming nuts and nut butters, seeds, oils, are out...right?

Make sure you are eating enough. Salad greens have high water content and will fill you up fast with very little calories (fuel for your body). If you eat a salad remember to have some healthy fats with it to make sure that your body can absorb all the wonderful vitamins.
Everyone needs some healthy fats in their diet. Almonds, walnuts, avocados, coconut oil, and olive oil are some good options. Salmon is another nutrition star.
If you can have dairy, greek yogurt is a great snack to try. High protein with some good fats. These things will help keep your blood sugar balanced.

I have the same problem, I am 5'9", and my weight was down to 104 at the lowest. Currently I am keeping a consistent 115. My LLMD reccomends eating nutrient rich meats, and slow cooking them for 12+ hours to break down the fats. Check out the cookbook" Nourishing Traditions". It goes into more detail there. He also recommends liver, but I have not been able to go there myself.
I know how concerning it is to not be able to keep weight on. Most people, however, respond by saying they want Lyme disease if weight loss is a symptom of it. That really blows my mind!

Searching - I agree - I had a co-worker look at me say why are you getting so skinny (this was just when I got diagnosed) and she knew I was suffering with pain, etc all last year.
She is a bit overweight - and she goes - "I wish I could get lyme for a few months during the summer so I can lose weight"

Oh really? Better watch what you wish for!!
OMG, are you kidding me?? What is wrong with people??
I agree--good fats are very important to keep weight on! I like to eat almonds, walnuts, lots of coconut oil, EVOO, almond butter, etc. etc.. It all helps to keep my weight where it is.

I don't know if everyone loves skin - but I do - so I will buy chicken thighs with skin on it and sautee them up so it gets nice and crispy and it's juicy inside. Pretty cheap when you buy chicken thighs with skin/bone. Chicken breast is more pricy and I feel has less flavor.
Then I save the bones and put it in a freezer bag and when I have enough I make some chicken stock.
I wish I could afford salmon on a regular basis - just so expensive!!
