What are you excited to do when your health returns?

I'm gonna spend snow days playing in the snow with my kids. I don't know how they can spend so much time out in the snow and cold but I'd really like to figure it out.

I'm gonna take up running, at least a little. I've never been a runner but I think after having such a hard time walking for so long, I'll be like Forrest and just wanna keep on running.

And I'm gonna go to Vegas and party it up. I said I was gonna do that for my 40th but instead I spent it home with Lyme.

go to the beach for a week or two.
soak up sun and the serenity the ocean brings.

I won't be tired, just relaxed
Across my face will be a smile
God will be my guide and each day will be pure bliss.

Jlp - Good idea for a thread!

sk8ter - just please call before you come. I don't like surprises. [Smile]

When I get better, I'm gonna take it easy and take good care of my health for at least a few more months, so that the Lyme doesn't come back. That's basically what I'm doing right now. 2.5 weeks off abx, and so far so good. But don't forget that it's not over right when you get better! [Smile]

Get back to the gym and exercise again without pain.

Help educate family and others about this terrible disease.

Hopefully never have to go thru this again.

I'd like to remember all the stuff i have forgotten. I'd like to walk through my kitchen door and not bash into the left side frame. i'd like to apologize for yelling at some people years ago when this was all new and fresh and the bugs really had me in their control. i'd like to bend over without making that whimpering sound. see? just the simple stuff.......that's all i want.

Oooh, the ocean and the zoo I get, but the cabin, that one will take some real healing for me. The cabins we like to go to are in a heavily forested area. When I can do that without fear, I'll know I'm really healed.

I'm with sk8tr. I want to travel across the US in my comfy truck pulling a camper...visiting National and state parks and lyme warriors.

Not sure how I will come up with the funds for this yet.

I really miss my old stompping grounds so would like to go there too. San Luis Obispo County, CA.

See my old house. I bet there will have been a lot of changes to the area.

Lots of beautiful places to visit there Oso Flaco, Morro Bay, Los Osos, Pismo Beach, Montana de Oro

I could spend a week just in SLO County.

I'd like to go up the coast on hwy 1 and see Big Sur area again, Go out on the MOnterey Pier again, on to the Coastal REdwoods.

I'd like to back to the Redwoods...can't recall the parks names now. I know the cabins I once stayed in have been replaced by a lodge.

I'd like to take my grandkids on a National Park outing...Yosemite perhaps. I really love Yosemite and dont' want to leave when I go there.

I feel at home.

I'd like to go in the winter when they can do some ice skating and warm themselves by the big outdoor fire at the outdoor ice rink.

Locally, I'd like to get on a horse and ride the trail that I currently am doing a 10 min loop when able.

I'd like to ride the whole trail in the National Forest.

I'd like to see Dollywood...especially the part where they live as if they were in the 1800's.

I'd like to see the ducks that live in a penthouse at a hotel come down the elevator and go in the pond at the hotel...can't recall the name of the hotel right now either

I'd like to go down a river...not white water rafting anymore.

Just a quiet cruise down a river.

Play tennis again!

Go running - I was never a big runner but I liked it here and there to get the heart rate up.. as Scorpiogirl said, not complain about working out.. now that we know how it feels to be stripped of working out..

Today if I were well and had the funds:

I would call and make an appointment to have the carpets cleaned, do what use to be my Saturday morning clean house and laundry cleaning, go to a movie, go out to eat, order Christmas gifts on line for my grandkids, and go truck shopping.

I also would make a few phone calls to catch up with what is going on in the lives of others.

And get the CPU to the computer fix it place to see why I no longer have sound....if I had the funds...I wouldn't do that...I would just get a new lap top.

Pack my bags and leave for a road trip an hour or so before dawn tomorrow.

~ I will date my husband all over again; go dancing (we used to love to dance and yes he even loves dancing), go hang out with friends at the local bar, shoot pool, throw some darts and maybe go on a real honeymoon.

~ I will really clean the house, finish any projects I started on "good days" and spruce up all the things that have been neglected or pushed to the back burner, but I would NOT become a crazy cleaner again. "Clean" is good enough now, sterilized is not necessary. I am now a (mostly) reformed super clean freak.

~ I will go to college and do something to help Lyme patients (or chronically ill) in some way, shape or form. I don't know what, but I'll figure it out.

Sad thing is now that I want to go to college I'm not able to, physically or intellectually and I get free tuition. (Hubby works at state university=free tuition). Someday though...

~ I will live my life with no restrictions, without worrying about the "crash". I will go back to being spontaneous and jumping at the chance to try new/old things.

~ I am not saying anything about my kids and doing stuff with/for them because I have strived very hard to not let this DD affect my being a mom. I have not missed very many practices, games, plays, recitals, etc. of theirs.

But I will do all these things with them without thinking about the "crash" or planning everything around an event, like rest times or cereal for dinner to save the energy for the event and clearing my schedule for the crash.

OMG! I could go on forever with this, there are so many things left for me to do and see. What a great thread, thank you.

I am going to eat a phenomenal pasta dinner with a large glass of red wine and then eat cheesecake or chocolate cake for desert.

And not think for a second about what it is doing to me.

Actually I don't know if I will ever again be able to this. Maybe a little pasta, half a glass of wine, a few bites of desert and some probiotics.

Good enough for me! My 8 year old always says to me "mom, when you are done with lyme disease you HAVE to eat this"!

This is a great thread! I'm feeling about 85% lately (about 2 months worth), so these are all good ideas for me!

I am going to do a gluten challenge when I am truly well. We don't know if I had gluten intolerance or lyme/babesia/bartonella reaction. So, I'm going to give it a shot.

I want to go back to jogging. Hard to believe that two years ago at this time I was training for a half marathon.

Otherwise, I look forward to just going forward, waking up every day and "going," without planning around medication, diet, potential crashes, etc.

Best to all of us as we continue toward our dreams!

Go to kohls and shop, make spontaneous plans, one foot out the door and living in a reality instead of this stuff. Being the mom to my son without feeling guilty that he got stuck having me, i used to be a fun mom before this, having my husband come home and being enthusiastic about the next day, Just loving and living life.

Go jogging again. Travel with my kids before they fly the coop.

Sit on the beach, then sit on the beach some more. Walk on the beach.....look for shells, snorkel, smell the ocean, swim in the ocean....

When I am finished with Lyme disease, I am hopeful that my sun allergy/autoimmune condition will be gone and I can be in the sun. It has been 13 years of avoiding the sun. I will be in the sun like a normal person instead of protected from head to toe with sun clothing looking like a fool.

My family will take their first beach vacation in a very, very long time.

When I am finished with Lyme disease, I am going to get back to my prediseased weight. While many of you lost weight, I gained.

My children have only known me with a disease that we later learned I passed to them. I would like to have a new healthy relationship with them and never say again, "Please take your pills."

When I get better, I am going to stop going to Rite-Aid. I would like to stop being on a first name basis with the pharmacist who recognizes my voice when I call. I would like to end pharmacy trips post Lyme disease.

When I am healthy, I am going to do more Lyme advocacy work.

--------------------
Things are never dull. After 3 fighting Lyme, 2 are in remission. Youngest is still sick, age 22. He has new diagnosed Chiari Malformation and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.
