I am going to school now but literally cannot walk any longer. I need to take a break and explore maybe some online classes.
My lyme and numerous co's have stopped me from functioning at even a minimal level. I'm breaking down and filing for disability.
I know that it's said not to mention lyme, but my doctors have already filled out their parts and one of them mentioned lyme.
They both listed multiple things like arthritis and amyotraphy (?). I know it's all about what I can't do.
What about including a copy of my test results along with some articles and informational material on chronic lyme and even babs, bart, erhlich, ebv, etc....all of which I have proof of in labs.
I know that it will get denied the first time anyway, but why not shoot for lyme.
That IS the cause of all this. I know they aren't going to believe a young person has severe arthritis, atrophy, and crushing fatigue and weakness.
Just wondering that, if in the paperwork, I should mention chronic lyme & co's along with the many symptoms that it has caused.(along with a statement of the many things I cannot do)

I don't think it matters if you mention it, but you must base it on what you CANNOT DO. So be sure to focus on that!

many thoughts ran through my head - and now they are gone....one thing is, the LLMD mentioned Lyme on mine but it was the things I couldn't do because of Lyme. The problems that arose from Lyme, arthritis, memory, fatigue.
I also had IC which I believe was the criteria they based my case on. I don't know for sure, just think.
If you think of Lyme, Arthritis, memory, chronic fatigue etc.as labels, labels won't get you disability. Symptoms will. What you can't do, how your life has changed, how much care you need, etc.
Have you seen the paperwork that you fill out?

Private policies vary. Read what it covers. Mine said I qualified if I could no longer do my job, which was an elementary school teacher.
I easily qualified, but over the years the company has gotten more stringent about it. My company was about to boot me when my SSDI came through.
Lymetoo is correct that it's all about what you can NOT do. I was sent for neuropsych testing by my attorney and that's what won it for me, when I got the the administrative law judge phase.
