What a beautiful sound! One of my favorite sounds in the world - along with the ocean, a rushing river, the wind blowing through the pines.
If you are well enough, enjoy the beautiful springtime.
But be ever watchful for ticks.

Got a bluebird making a nest in box in my yard. Mrs. does all the bringing of material, Mr. stands guard. It is said they want a box on a pole in the middle of an open area, but this one is hanging on a tree limb and they seem to like it.
Someone told me that if you put boxes closer together, different species would take them because they tolerate others, but not another couple of same species. This did not prove to be true, as the bluebird couple ran off a chickadee couple attempting to next in nearby box.

I'm glad that all of you love birds. They just welcome spring with their songs. And they are fun to watch.

I was thinking last week about the fact that we don't have cardinals in our backyard. (it's the edge of a forest) I think it's because we have a resident bluejay.
They are rather nasty creatures and will run off just about ANYTHING....so....

Bluebirds are my absolute favorites! Whenever I see or hear them, I feel like it is a message from above. I am grateful that I can still hear their lovely 'cheer cheer chiree' with my good ear. OK - don't make fun of me. I used to be an avid birder before Lyme.
I love this time of year too. I am opening my window a crack now at night and I can hear the peepers. They help to mask my tinnitus!

I've always heard that bluebirds like a box at the edge of a meadow but next to the woods, which is a good description of our yard.
We've always had a ton of them here.
Looking forward to the hummingbirds, they'll be here soon.
