so as I am sitting here with my foot up... tv on in the background ...driving me insane with all the "news..." I have Lymenet!
I was fortunate enough to only be "couched" for a little while with lyme (well I didn't really have a choice, had to work) but I cannot walk right now except to go to the bathroom. I am going a bit insane... and have come to love this general support forum...where we get to talk about dogs, diets, and more fun, uplifting stuff.
what do you love about lymenet besides of course a place to get info and support on Lyme?

Here is where people understand when i , or someone else, speaks about trouble with finding words, brain fog so bad that I can't remember why I walked from the family room to the hallway, or fatigue that makes just standing up a real chore.
Lymenet is a safe haven, a place to get more info when a new symptom ( like when I saw parasites in my stool) crops up and I need info and options.
Lymenet makes me smile when reading about someone making progress with health, a person getting a puppy, and how someone's family showed love through their actions.
Lymenet is "up and awake"with me when insomnia keeps me from sleeping.
Lymenet is sometimes the "secondopinion" that I take to my LLMD.
Thank you to everyone at the forefront and those behind the scenes.

Nobody calls me names or .makes fun of me because of my health. Religjon or political persuasion
Now I know we dont discuss those here but its obvious im a chubby little redneck from the south!!
No matter what post somebody else has had it, thought it, done. It or said it
Its full of bright witty compassionate people who really do give a damn about others.
And we all love and respect each other. My gosh. Some of these other boards are downright mean and nasty.

I also want to give a shout-out to the moderators - a sharp, caring bunch of folks who watch the site around the clock to ensure that this is a safe, comfortable place for everyone!
And also thanks to those of you who alert us about anything!

Dr Seuss sums it up!
We're all a little weird. And life is a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdnessand call it lovetrue love.
and.... Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Creates a safe sense of community and a place to sort of "check in" to get support, advice and feedback.
No one else really gets what we go through and having this format decreases my sense of isolation that this ever so marginalized disease creates.

A sense of community and no one can see you, so, if you are looking funky and in your old bathrobe and
your hair looks like Medusa, no one can judge you and just loves you for your posts.
I hope this site doesn't try something like skype, it would be fatal to my ego.
I also like the fact that you can go along feeling okay and then some new symptom crops up
and you can ask about treatment and if anyone else has the same thing. And, oh yes, the
moderators who take the time to referee.
