Last year, PBS was showing "Under Our Skin", and Dr. Phil had a great show about Chronic Lyme.

I don't think anything like that happened this month, other than the protest and CNN featuring some chronic lyme patients who wrote on their forum about the disease.

Did I miss any new publicity?

Well in our part of the country, one member of our support group made a press release. It only appeared on line at the CJ.

We had another viewing of UOS and only brought in a few new people. Disappointing.

KET is showing UOS June 2 at 3:30 am. Like there's going to be anybody channel surfing at that time of the day??? I'm not sure if they had other views in May.

Rivendell, a year ago lyme news was all over our area. We do know the ID docs are talking about us.....the cult wearing green t-shirts.

I hope you come to our meetings soon.

Pam

Pam,

I'm glad that your group had so much publicity last year.

No, 2:30 is not a good viewing time.

I can't believe what has happened to Lyme. And really, I think this problem is in other areas of health care as well. Poor testing and poor treatment for other illnesses.

Well, thanks so much for the invitation, and I will get there sometime. It is good to know you are across the river.

Peace

Alot happened this May! Google for worldwide Lyme disease protests - many events occurred in this country and in 30 countries worldwide!

I like the publications route with big circulations. I try to get articles accepted for publication for each May awareness month. This time I got three published.

You can reach more people this way - consider publications that cover people/pets/environment and ask early in the beginning of the year if they'd be interested in a Lyme alert article for their May issue or closest spring issue, and if so, how many words and by when.

Probably not specific to Lyme awareness month but at least once a day for the last few weeks I have seen a news show talk about Lyme.

It seems like the medical community is expanding their thinking on the topic. Very slowly!

One MD on The Early Show actually stated that some people just don't recover and have lifelong symptoms, also known as chronic Lyme. She did not call it post Lyme syndrome!

Baby steps!

Yeah, I'm glad to hear that.

I need to watch more TV and read publications.
