I tripped on as rug and fell headlong into the washer. It hit me below the rib cage. I hit the top rim.
I mean full out flying forward..major wham.
Im so sore. Am having sharp pains in my right side which go to the shoulder. Under both bre as sts really hurt over to the side.
I woke up last night at 11 with very sharp pains under the right breast. When I took a breath it got worse.
Man it hurt. Right now dont think I ruptured spleen or liver but whoaaaa it hurts.
Anybody had a fall like that???

Ouch, that sounds really painful.
Do you think you could've cracked or bruised a rib?
When my dad broke a rib, it always hurt worse when he tried to take a deep breath.

Broken rib possible. I went superman on a trail run and slammed my ribs into a rock. Crack they went. Very painful and similar to what you are describing. Deep breathing was torture. Perhaps you should get an x-ray. Felt worse when laying down as well.

I do hope the pain lets up! and REALLY hope you don't have a broken rib.
You must be shorter than I thought!! The top of my washer comes up to my hip bone.
I had visions of you with your feet sticking out from the top of the washer! I do hope you mean you ran into it, not fell into it??

Ouch!
Are you bruised or swollen on your ribs?
If so, it may be a good idea for an xray.

Ouch. But, after you are all better...where is that camera when you need it.
You could have won a prize on the tv show whose name I can't recall right now.

I pictured the same thing as tutu and then reprimanded myself...."shes hurting you idiot-stop laughing"
I would think a simple xray is in order ...what if the rib is puncturing something?
Hope you feel better soon but thanks for the laugh. Sorry.

Now Randi you had to laugh at Steve's photo. I knew you were short, I did remember that.
So your middle name is Grace too? I can't believe the way my furniture jumps out at me. Also why are cracks in the parking lots so wide?
Rugs are the worst. Just recently I went around and double sided taped them all down so they can't trip me up anymore???? So far so good.
I hope you are just bruised and heal soon.

Hi randibear. I fall a lot, usually over some electrical cord i didn't roll up.
I tend to run the sweeper, move all the crap to the other side of the room or hall way to sweep under it,get tired and just leave it sitting plugged in .
Then i can get my toes tangled up in the cord and fall.
So is there two big dents in the top of the washer???

Maddog, thanks for the visual. I've never met a cord that didn't wrap itself around my toes too.
Something tells me.....we just aren't right folks.

I’ve been thinking how we could help you with the washing machine problem.
I think it may be wise to go back to the 40’s – let’s see if we can find an (Old - WashBoard) on-line

Ouch. When I broke my ankle in April I bruised a rib too (then I lacerated me head) I didn't know where to ice.
They treat a break and a bruised rib the same... Rest it and ice it. Anti inflammatory if you can.
And I get being vertically challenged with a top load washer. "The girlfriends" get in the way too! I keep a big long fork by the washer to get those pesky lone socks out I can't reach.
Feel better.
