My bf is feeling helpless about my illness and does not know what to do.

It has been so long and I am still sick and he is feeling hopeless also.

Does anyone have any good article or links or advice for the people who support us.

I think if I could show him some he would feel empowered and would feel better with some direction.

ie: what other supporters have done that helped the person with lyme in their life.

that it is normal to feel this way when someone close has chronic illness.

Things to help cope etc.

Thanks in advance.

Don't know what would help or where to find it in a situation like this, but there are caregiver support groups in some places. I am not sure it matters what the chronic illness is, although it would be nice if unlikely to find one dedicated to lyme, so maybe check into groups for other illnesses. There is going to be a lot of cross over even if some of the specifics will not match.

Try googling "caregiver support" and maybe you will get some ideas on how to get help for him.

I think this is a common problem. The lyme situation is so hard on patients, it is bound to get the families and significant others down.

This might sound like not much help, but could he read the thread for success stories. Maybe see a little hope down the line.

The new study of the survey of over 3000 chronic Lyme patients could be helpful since it contrasts the impact of chronic Lyme and other difficult chronic conditions:
