They indicated a new bacteria is being found w/ tick bite-Borrelia myteoii? Dr. Bobbi Pritt from Mayo Clinic was also on today.

It's B miyamotoi and it's not new. It's in Japan and now spread all over this country. A lot of folks in S CA have it. It only had a tick lab test till recently, so it's a big step forward that the IGeneX lab now has testing for it.

Right most of us know it's not new but it's good that it's getting out to the public. Karla L referenced this above too.

I wondered why this was quickly moved to "General". It seems like a "Medical" issue to me. People who are new to Lymenet may not even know about this strain and may have it.
