You know, that bird that stops by every once in a while and perches on your shoulder while it screams in your ear when you are getting ready to do something you maybe shouldn't do. He is better known as the YOU KNOW BETTER bird!

Truth is, he actually needs to be stuffed and cooked for a holiday dinner because he is so annoying, but of course he would say- YOU KNOW BETTER if I ever tried that.

Anyhow, I hadn't seen him in a good while, but then again, I don't usually plan to do anything bad.

As it happens, I was just casually touring thru some old race track grounds that were being updated so they could re-open soon. I was just curious, and excited that it is being fixed up and I wanted to see what was going on.

Well, with all the construction and changes I kind of got on the wrong dirt road and suddenly was going up an unfamiliar hill. When I got to the top I slowed down and looked.

I was right on the edge of the race track! It was beautiful!

Hmmmmm, I thought. It would be really fun to race around the track. It looked soooooo inviting! How many other opportunities will I ever get to do it? I'm going to do it!

And POOF, suddenly there he was, the &%$#%^& bird. How did he know to show up just then?

So I thought about it and said to myself I shouldn't do it. Then I thought I should! Then I thought I shouldn't.

What would you have done?

Go for it!!! What's a little time in jail for trespassing?

You'd get to wear an orange jumpsuit and get your picture taken!

Well, be sure they have not just asphalted the track first.

And get your bail arranged then go for it.

Gone around the track several times and when anyone asked you what you were doing, say you're raising funds for Lyme disease and show them your NASCAR Lyme car pic!

Dare I ask???

Are we running on foot?

Riding a horse??

OR driving your racing car/truck?

I ask cause I dont know.

I ask cause sort of important to know if we need to raise horse or car bail too?

Anybody want to donate to the fund to free our cup?

Nothing worse than a cup that dont runneth over.

But on the other hand I sure would like to see them hand,,, the gold cup,,, to the tin cup,,,yup yup yup.

So get in the race and win win win.

I am sure our resident Robin can improve on this bird brained thought.

Don, I was assuming this involved wheels - in case you go there again with the bird talk muzzled, I think wearing the NASCAR Lyme car helmet would be an appropriate accessory, and if so, take a selfie -

You all make me laugh! That's a good thing!

Basically, Keebler hit the nail on the head... "Well, be sure they have not just asphalted the track first."

I saw the 3 big asphalt trucks sitting on the far side from where I had pulled up. The track looked as if no one had driven on it, ever, and it didn't appeared cured or dried.

The You Know Better bird looked at it and said- "How are you gonna get that black stuff off your tires and car?"

Hmmmm? I shrugged my shoulders, which accidentally made the goofy bird hit his head on the ceiling of the car! He fell over backwards into the back seat and laid there silent.

Now is my chance I thought! YES! But, do you know what my next thought was as I put the car in drive?

I am just too tired to have to deal with filling out forms and explaining what meds I am on to the prison guards when I get locked up.

Plus, I didn't have enough money to pay a tow truck to "unstick" my vehicle from the thick layer of asphalt.

AM I PITIFUL OR WHAT? I really wanted to drive around the track! And I didn't do it!

Maybe I'm just too old? Or stupid? Or I've lost my true and original "crazy"?

Darn it all. Maybe next time?

[lol]
