Went to store today to get candy to prevent destruction- I mean results of unhappy trick or treaters. ~smile~
In a hurry I stopped by the seafood section and saw catfish and salmon was on sale. Since they cook it for you I asked them to cook up one small salmon filet and some catfish. Another fellow came up to me about that time and a three way conversation ensued.
As I was leaving, planning to come back to pick up the fish once it was cooked, the man behind the counter asked in a voice louder then normal to be sure I heard him. "How much catfish do you want?"
As I turned to let him know, my response was a quick- "Oh, just give me a couple pounds please."
Later when I went to pick it up I was surprised to see that one of my fish orders was wrapped in waxed paper like you'd wrap a whole fish or a hind quarter of deer because it obviously wouldn't fit in the plastic containers they normally used.
Didn't think more about it till I got it home.
Do you know how much fish is in a couple POUNDS of fish? Got it home and it had leaked thru the waxed paper so I grabbed something to put it in.
It filled a large mixing bowl clear up to the top!
Several hours later the mixing bowl is still about 3/4 full and I am so full I can barely move.
So the question is... How much fish would a Tincup eat if a Tincup could eat fish?
And wouldn't you know while trying to make a dent in all that fish a friend called to tell me, and I am laughing now, that he was having a fish fry tonight and wanted to know how to fry the fish.
He had FIVE different kinds of fish so I had to advise him on each one as I was trying to stuff down MY big bowl full! Burp.
Lesson learned... Next time I'll be sure to say a couple of filets, not pounds! UGH!

You all make me laugh!
Funny though, the trick or treaters must have heard me moaning about all the fish I ate and my belly being full and were too scared to come here tonight.
(I was excited because last year I finally had ONE little neighbor girl come after years of no one coming.)
Now, I not only have a boat load of cooked fish, I have candy too!

Update...
Aside from having the fish oil capsule in my pants pocket and it breaking open, not much exciting going on since my last trip to the grocery store.
BUT- today I went back and again went up to the seafood counter. (Guess it is just a habit by now?)
I looked into the glass case, checked out the oysters, saw the catfish and busted out laughing. That was at the exact same time a young girl asked if she could help me.
I explained to her what happened last time and she laughed too. Then I ordered 2 FILETS of catfish. She was going to cook them for me with a little old bay.
I came back a bit quicker than normal and she was just wrapping them up. As she sat them on the counter she said "Here are your 2 pounds of cat fish."
