I'm calling on our wonderful community here for help.

OK. I managed to get myself down to San Diego for a 5 days February. All my doctors say I'll do better there. It wasn't easy. I had to have people carry my luggage everywhere. My pain cleared 80% while I was there. It was unbelievable!

I REALLY need to move.

I returned to my house in the Santa Cruz mountains to epic storms.

I came home to a fire, flood, power outage, no Internet, the road being washed out, and a tree FALLING on my car. This happened nonstop for 2 weeks!

My inflammation is all bad again and I've had a cold for over a week. The mold count is so high now. My house IS NOT moldy, but I'm allergic to the outside mold.

I hired a helper from an ad to come in last week to sort and pack to move. The person was awful, moved stuff around to places I didn't want without asking, threw out stuff I didn't want to go and stole some things! I kicked the person out after an hour.

Here's what I REALLY need.

1) Reliable, kind helper/personal assistant, 2-4 hours per visit

I'm sorting and getting rid of belongings to make my move easier.

If anyone knows people in the Santa Cruz area who can help me sort and pack, I'd really appreciate it. I have arthritis in my back and can't lift things. I move slowly and have chronic fatigue. I get overwhelmed easily.

I have stuff to sort through from a divorce and it can be emotional, so I just need someone sensitive and supportive. I don't need a professional organizer. Just a nice person who can be patient and meet me where I'm at.

I will pay for help. I just need to move out and can't do it on my own. (I've tried posting ads and making calls to every organization imaginable, I'm just hiring word-of-mouth people after several bad experiences)

I had two wonderful people helping me, but one was very allergic to my cat and the other got a full-time job so had to cut back on hours.

2) Connections to be people in southern California.

I did so much better there. I need help finding a place that's safe and dry along with just making friends.

I've learned I'm an extrovert and really like to be around people.

3) A safe place to move to.

I want to sell my house which will be EASY. The problem is finding a place to leap to. I don't want to sell my place wind up homeless.

4) Plain old emotional support.

I need words of encouragement. It's hard to keep my spirits up. I'm all alone here. If someone could even text me a short, encouraging message everyday that would help. PM me if interested. I'm just trying to keep myself afloat.

I hope someone can help with something. Thanks!

Wow ... well, really, I guess a couple WOW!'s there. Quite a horrible thing to return to ... but also so great that you got so much better just from a different location. Must confirm what you had been suspecting, that you need a different geography.

I am not in that region, and have no connections there, so unfortunately cannot help with that. Hopefully others can.

Keep at it ... you'll get there!

Hi Lymetoo,

Thanks for keeping this at the top.

I'm not very active on facebook, very few friends, and some people I'm friends with know nothing of my disabilities.

If there's a closed group on facebook that you recommend I post on, let me know.

I can't think of one. I'm not on any Lyme FB groups.

I thought maybe your FB friends would be more likely to help because they know you. Also because maybe you'd have more of them be in CA.

So sorry you feel so ill and overwhelmed at the same time. I think most of us have been there.

BUT, soon it will improve for you. I can see it in the stars.

I took the liberty of contacting some people in your current location and have two leads so far to try to get you some help.

I don't want to post the information publicly and I don't do PM's on LN, so if you'd like to email me I have the info written down with easy to understand instructions and will send it to you.

[email protected]

For request # 2 & 3 on your list.

Can you narrow it down to something more specific besides "southern California"?

If you want to move to a specific town, the Chamber of Commerce can send you some literature, just need to know what county or town.

Another place to start a search is with a real estate agent. They know the area and what is available and would be able to help you with the paperwork required.

As for the 4th item on your wish list. Sorry I don't text or use PM. Maybe someone here could be a contact person for you. A new friend.

I've also emailed the leader of the SO. CA Lyme support group and hope to hear back from them. Perhaps they can be of assistance. I sure hope so!

In the meantime- breathe in, breathe out, move on.

[group hug]

"Can you narrow it down to something more specific besides "southern California"?"

I'm looking at coastal desert. Near a big city for medical care.

Either San Diego or LA area seems best, but am open.

That's nice, but someone on the east coast, unless they have excelled in geography or are real familiar with the area for some other reason, has no clue what cities/towns etc. are in the area that you have come up with in your dreams or have added to your wish list.

I'm sorry, I can only research something that is more specific, otherwise I'd be researching for months just to learn the terrain.

Narrowing down the location seems would be a job that only you can do. Prices, availability, scenery, driving ability, etc. must all be considered and I don't have that info.

I've sent you two emails with the info I'd gathered for you. Feel free to use it or not.

Good luck!

Judie, at least you discovered that your pain went down 80% in Southern CA - that's a huge discovery - so, step by step for getting there. I'm going to PM you about some CA contacts.

Well shucks. My car broke down and I got stranded. I really need to move out of here. I was able to get it to the shop, now I need to figure out how to get it back.

Living here is unmanageable.

So sorry! What terrible luck!

Hoping Robin49287505's info was helpful. Since she is in CA it should be.

Once you decide on a place I'll do what I can to assist!

I'm wanting to visit the Los Angeles area. Maybe Santa Monica or Los Feliz and see how I do there.

If anyone has connections there, let me know.

I'm having a friend coming for a few days from out of town to help me sort stuff and throw things out.

I just need to look forward to some kind of future. I'm dying here.
