I applied for SSDI in October; "still processing" but they have sent me a functional assessment and then work history.
I got a letter today saying they (SSDI determination dept) scheduled an appt for me to see a psychologist for "testing to obtain further information". Of course my vision is terrible today (blurry) so a neighbor read it.
Anyone know what this means or has anyone been through this?
What kind of tests do they do?
I cannot handle someone else telling me I' crazy.

I don't think they're there to call you crazy - I think they want to know how your condition affects you psychologically. Which should be easy, since being sick affects all of us in unhappy ways!

I know...think he is going to do cognitive tests to see how my brain is NOT working!!
Tried to do dinner last night and caught a paper towel on fire and then burned my finger. My husband came home and was not too happy because he has told me not to do that without him being right there because i have had some accidents which of course made me sad but he said its ok he just does nt want me to get hurt.
not the best of days. I posted a link to article about Kelly Osborne having Lyme...she struggled like all of us but then got better with treatment in Germany,
Again a rich person illness. Why don't all these celebrities join forces and fight for us??
Sorry for the rant...another bad day. Keeping the faith with all the support I get here.

If you talked about psychological problems in Disability application, or if your doctors mention it in their medical records, then Social Security wants their own doctor to evaluate you and report back to Social Security.
So, it all depends on what you and your doctors claim your disability involves. Social Security will try to verify that and substantiate it with their own exam.
