"“Even though you may live in an area where you didn’t have ticks in the past or your parents don’t remember having ticks, the distribution is changing,” she added. “More and more people are at risk.”

CDC is trying to cover their rear as we (the Lyme literate community) have known this for decades while the CDC denied it.

"The best known threat is Lyme disease. Cases in the United States increased from about 12,000 annually in 1995 to nearly 40,000 in 2015. Experts say the real number of infections is likely closer to 300,000."

Again, CDC is just trying to recoup what we have been telling them for decades.

"Dr. Gary Wormser, founder of the Lyme Disease Diagnostic Center at New York Medical College, said the most worrisome tick-borne contagion he sees is babesiosis, which can cause malaria-like symptoms and require hospitalization. A few of his patients have died from it; several required intensive care."

Personal opinion: Every death resulted from TBI's should be laid at his feet because doctors, hospitals, colleges, followed his advice.

TrekCoord,

Glad you commented. I was at a loss for words yet hoped there would be comments to the article. For sure, nothing new there, not as many errors as usual yet basically just wanted folks to know what's out there in the media.

It certainly deserves critical comment for anyone new to all this and, for those of us who know so much more, it can still be frustrating even when they start to wake up even a little bit.

I am still waiting for the day NYT actually talks to ILADS or - gasp - sends some of their medical reporters to an ILADS conference. That would be excellent but I know I should not hold my breath on that.

I wish they would see that Wormser and other IDSA ostriches are not the real experts they claim to be.

If you have The Worm for a doctor....I can see why there would be death.
