Ugh!! Thank you for posting this.
I have been on Lyrica only at night for a long time, due to not finding anything else that makes the horrific nerve pain I have even vaguely tolerable. (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, aka, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy.
I want to get off of it! It's evil! The side-effects are atrocious. Not to mention what you mentioned, which I didn't know.
The trick is to find something else that works to just take the edge off of the pain. My next stop is high-dose CBD.
I desperately want to get rid of this horrible med. I don't believe that I'm dependent (I hope!), because I only take it at night. Even so, I probably will have to titrate down, when I get the CBD. I"ve had CBD before, but need to get a regulated dose.
This pharma co is basically legal pushers! Yes, those of us in horrible pain need help. But not with the pharma versions, unless nothing else works. Sigh.

Kayak .. For you, it probably IS SAFER than ibuprofen. You don't need another bout with diverticulitis.

- Very ototoxic. Neurontin caused me much vertigo and muscle weakness even at very low doses - my legs turned to jell-o. Was supposed to help reduce seizures and it caused more, likely due at least in part to the vertigo-inducing nature of it.
For those with any vestibular issues, this can be a brutal drug. -
