Good news about a case that has been going on for nine years!
And before I share this I've got to say, may God continue watching over this dear child.
The federal court upheld a previous verdict- an award of $41.7 million for a child who contracted a tick borne disease (while on a school sponsored trip) after being bitten by a tick.

Wow. Re the child having been bitten in China, I have heard an estimate that 6% of Chinese folks may be infected. That would be 60 million! I hope they have some good herbal meds!

The only thing that I don't like about this is that the school is the one being sued (correct?) The only change I see happening is that less school trips will happen. I don't see this changing insurance or Dr.'s minds?
I don't know. HOWEVER, it's good that it's in the public eye and hopefully more awareness will come from it.
Bless this child!

OMG, what a horrible case!!! So terribly sad. No child should have to go through this (which, unfortunately, means nothing).
As we all know, the blasted ticks and infections are everywhere, except possibly Antartica. Hawaii is not supposed to have as much, probably because it's so far from any other land mass.

WOW, that is a huge ammount of money! wouldn't that be wonderful if we could all get compensated - and if the ticks themselves could pay out!!!
