my dr has given me the speech. you're health or die...period. I have alot of problems now. nuff said..
my husband has said ok whatever you want.
I'm very overweight and have bad knees. I'm looking at elliptical or recumbent bicycle. the bike seems to hurt my knees. elliptical I have to climb on and off and I'm not coordinated.
soon tho it will warm up and I can walk again.
what do you think is best? I'm leaning toward elliptical but don't know. space is a consideration too.

That's a tough question RB. I just recently started working out again after a months and months long hiatus and have lost to much muscle to go back to where I was at in my exercise routine.
I did about 30 minutes on the treadmill which kinda tweaked my knee so I'm trying to strengthen my legs through non-painful floor routines and tightening the front of my thighs off and on while watching TV.
Also switched right to swimming. I'm not a great swimmer and am self-conscious so wear a t-shirt over my swim gear.
So...I'd say anything that causes pain is a no-go. Ellipticals have never tweaked my knee but have done a number on my SI joint.
Good luck and come see us on the EXERCISE thread where we try to encourage each other to try and get moving or to keep moving.

omg!!! you won't believe this. he gave my procor elliptical, a 1200 dollar machine, to his friend. It's been a major sore point forever..dudes...lol. he said I didn't use it but I swear I did. he's gone all the time so he didn't know.
he jus suggested he'd call his friend and ask for it back. praise be. I also know this guy's wife did not want it and its collecting dust.
now let's cross our fingers and hope he says yes....woohooo.
