Of course, I am partial to the Trail since I hiked it years ago, and I was a firefighter too like him, but this is a nice story about a Connecticut man who seems to be rather well, incredible and generous both.
QUOTE- "Andrew is a fascinating character — full of positive energy and eager to make the most of every day.
He was a firefighter in Naugatuck, Conn., for 24 years; owns his own plane, a Harley-Davidson and an Indian motorcycle; has written three books; made a movie and put on a film festival;
run up the 1,576 stairs of the Empire State Building 17 times; has beaten cancer; run up Mount Washington seven times; and someday hopes to conquer Mount Everest."
With all these fun things and accomplishments, do you know the only thing he is afraid of?

TC, thanks for posting this about Tim Andrews. What a wonderful person! I'll follow him on FB. I admire you greatly for doing the Appalachian Trail. I remember someone I worked with in AK that had done the Trail. Something I would love to do but am sure I can't do the whole thing. As a matter of fact I finally threw out my hiking gear last year. Especially hard to chuck my crampon compatible winter hikers.

Hey Lone Wolf! Nice to see you!
Glad you agree that it is a nice article. He seems like someone cool that would also be fun to follow.
Ouch on tossing the gear! I know that had to hurt!
You know I still have my park ranger uniforms? It was over 30 years ago I had to stop working a job I absolutely loved due to Lyme & TBD.
Hanging onto them is not the brightest thing to do, but it gave me some hope that MAYBE some day I will be cured and can go back to work.

You might can make something neat down the road with those old uniforms. My older sister passed away in 2013 and last year I made some pot holders out of one of her fav purple shirts. I gave them to her son for Christmas. Best idea I've had in years!

Sounds nice! Glad you did that! Bet he loved it and still does!
You do need to keep in mind I am not at all crafty like you, so maybe I could use them for scare crows?
