It's time for another week of moving!

We are calling this season--Sprinter--as flowers are starting to bloom but it is supposed to snow a bit tonight. Winter won't quite leave and let Spring take over.

But I hope you have a spring in your step this week.

Thanks for getting us going this week Hiker! No exercise for me today. Just made pork stroganoff, rice and veggies for dinner.

It's alot colder here and rainy, so unlike the South! I'm enjoying it though.

Looking at maybe buying a Toro leaf blower/mulcher vacuum to make my yard work easy. That raking and bagging was way to much for me.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

Well...I never made it to computer to start this thread. It looks like it will let me post now

We are in middle of 2 day ice storm. I still have power so no complaints

I walked a lot with Etta yesterday at beach in anticipation of this storm

I stood and walked in house a few hours this morning...then crashed and fell asleep.

Took detox bath. Really hoped to do more in house but I'm back in bed with heat pad. Hopefully I 'll be more active tomorrow

I think I'm finally understanding Mthfr by reading Dirty Genes by Ben Lynch

Its good to know the testing isn't that important...but there are some parts of treatment that might be really hard for me

I talked to someone in MN who has found a pretty good llmd....she has 18 yrs experience and consults with Dr J

Went to the nursery and bought some Mexican heather, violas, chives, mint, dill, thyme, basil and they threw in a free rosemary.

Need to run and get some potting soil because these are going in the four rectangular pots in our carport and the rosemary is going solo in a big planter.

So really no exercise to speak of outside of errands.

Kayak-I'm doing samE and CoQ10 for detox. What's your plan of action for detoxing?

Beautiful cool day here and I enjoyed being outside at the nursery today!

See everyone tomorrow!

Tutu--how are you?

Ak--I love buying plants. I tend to spend too much, so I don't go often to a nursery.

Chilly, windy, snow flurries. lp--you and I can't seem to get to the spring season.

No exercise for me, today.

I did a little walking in house and carport dealing with trash and then some cooking

Sam e never seemed to help me and I think I know why now from reading Mthfr book...but I wouldn't be able to explain it

I think my biggest detox is Epsom salt bath

But I know a lot of my supps also detox. Coq10 and alpha lipoic acid are 2. I take so many. Some do more than 1 thing

Right now I'm identifying the genes that are not working right and trying to fix them by changing supps and food

Its a little hard cuz I don't want to bring on diverticulitis attack.

But my low energy. High pain. Inability to stand very long. And what seems more and more like depression. And my medical history point to Mthfr. So I hope if I make some changes I will start to improve

I got excited when I read if you make the changes...then you don't have as many food or chemical sensitivities

The last 3 things I got from Amazon stinks really bad and they have changed policy and won't take returns...with no warning. So I am going to have to find another place to shop

I'm sitting in car in pouring ice. The phone charger I use in house wasn't working well and this one works better

Etta was getting stir crazy too...so she's happier thinking we are going somewhere. But we aren't living drive in this weather

Hey, gang! I had a busy day yesterday. Went to church and then a friend met me at the theater and we went to the songwriters' show, had a salad and then on to the show hubby is in.

The songwriters' show is my new favorite. . Each week they bring in two new writers and they tell about their songs. These people have written for everyone from Joe Nichols, Neal McCoy, Alabama, and Kenny Chesney to George Strait. It's an amazing show.

I'll probably go this weekend again because two of the "big boys" are coming in this week. [Smile]

I need to get busy on the taxes. I have an extension, but need to get it done soon. It's a burden to have it hanging over my head.

It snowed at church on Sunday for several hours but it was 35 degrees, so no worries.

Tomorrow it will be 78 degrees.

I hope your ice is over soon, LP! Yuck!!

AK .. Put that rosemary in the backyard along the back fence. [Big Grin] It grows fast. I can't go near that stuff. I fear for you!

Hiker .. spring is right around the corner. I'll send it to you in a few days. [hi]

Saturday we planted garden - weather was nice and warm - we went without shoes. Sunday it was windy, cold and rainy - back to wearing winter coats!

Today, not so windy, but cold and rainy. Still feeling the aches in muscles I hadn't used in awhile when planting garden.

Hubby started a new project - making pottery. Made a vase -its setting on the counter drying.

MannaMe--It will be another month or so before I plant a garden. My muscles ache just thinking about it. Glad you got started. Kudos to your hubby for his pottery project.

Perfect weather for me. 50, sunny and NO wind. Walked only 22 minutes, but it felt good.

Snow back in forecast tomorrow.

hi manna! good to see you. i have little green flowers poking up and they keep getting attacked by snow and ice. i dont know what they will look like if they ever manage to bloom.

a few days ago i raked a little and spread mulch cuz the plow dug up a corner garden i planted im still sore from that . i mostly have perennials now but in the next 2 weeks i have to pick up 30 baby trees and get them in the ground they will be tiny. 6-8" so easy to plant but they all wont make it...last time i gave half my birches away and of the ones i kept only one made it hes over 5ft now and 5 yrs old this time im getting white birches and sugar maples...they are so pretty in the fall

so i started day with a shower and that counts as exercise its hard esp in morning but does loosen me up some it also exhausts me

i rested and did a little kitchen work too much online time trying to figure out what is going on with me...why i cant stand and walk and even have awful paiin if etta wants to be on my lap. shes used to walking on me and now it is very very painfil it feels like fibromyalgia pain except for the few spots of incision pain

the gi doc wants me to change meds...and hes doubling what other gi docs are stopping and it scares me alot of the side effects are what i am experiencing...scary cognitive stuff...so i want off this med but it may put me back into diverticulitis attack

and this weeks priority is ruling out cancer sooooo first things first. i just hope i cna get the test and dont end up in er. they havent called to schedule yet so i will call them tomorrow. lots of things were canceled the last 2 days cuz of ice.. we have snow tomorrow i think...but not a lot.

then at 5...warmest part of day i took etta for walk...i thought i coould do it without cane i amost didint make it back it felt like bones in my feet broke and both legs kept giving way...
just collapsing it should have been a 20 min walk but took me 40 cuz i kept stopping to hold on to things

none of this is good. i need to get it sorted out.

i rested at home and did a 2nd load of laundry its nice to have washer dryer working now

so i did a lot of exercise for me...but im not ok and i have to figure it out

HI, Manna! No garden here either! I finally bought some impatiens and a pink polka dot plant yesterday. It will be warmer here soon. It was nearly 80 today but the rest of the week will be 50's.

Kayak .. I'm very sorry you are doing so poorly. Stick close to home until you know you can get out like that. It's scary.

hiker .. I hope you don't get very much snow. It will all be over soon and you will be retired!! [Smile]

I had a reaction to a food this morning, so I'm still in my pajamas. Just stayed in bed a few hours and now I'm washing clothes and running the dishwasher. Next is the Bible study work for tomorrow.

Hubby is better but still on meds and still coughing.

Hi everyone! No traditional exercise to speak of. Potted herbs and flowers in the 4 rectangular plastic troughs we use. Rosemary and lavender going solo. I bought impatiens instead of violas. Usually do vincas because they're so hardy but could not resist the variegated impatiens. Hope they do well here.

I see quite a few of us have spring fever here!

Well, off to bed. Up early to take Mom to Atlanta tomorrow.

See everyone tomorrow!

Pretty good day at work.

Stopped at library afterwards.

Feeling very toxic which makes my legs feel heavy, so I did not exercise.

Ak-Hope your mom's appointment went well.

lp-Take care of yourself and don't overdo. Hate it when doctors suggest drugs that may not agree with you.

Tutu--Wish you could eat more foods without reacting. Will keep praying.

I have some sorta good news. I'm just gonna go with it until something else happens

I called to check on scheduling ultrasound. Had it done an hour later. And np called with results at 6pm

Nothing showed. But they are concerned about the sx...cognitive and fatigue. But that could be from miralax

Today the parking lot was full so I had a long walk to elec cart and back

I took a shower before I left too

This morning I took trash can out to road and tonight I brought 2 back in. I had to use wc tho. Still hard work

Then from wc I dug 2 trenches for rain water to drain thru garden to sewer on the other side

And it was nice so I pushed wc around garden and looked at new stuff coming up.

All of that counts for me...and it is also treatment for diver...but thru all this mess I did get some exercise. Dishes and laundry too

I have some tiny blue flowers blooming!

And hyacinth and tulips joining the day lilies

Hiker I hope you feel better and the snow finally stops. Its in our forecast tomorro

Is your hubs still working while he s sick

Sad about Barbara Bush...but she did live quite a life. Strong woman.

AK .. Safe travels!! Hope all went well.

hiker .. That heavy leg stuff is no fun. Reciprocal prayers for you!

LP.. That's awful about Mass General. They are nuts about the benadryl. I guess they prefer that people just die.

I hope you can get the scan without contrast but I know that will be quite the battle.

The red face could be MCAS, as well as the bone and muscle pain .. but you must get everything checked out to be sure.

Flies on the polka dot plants?? Yuck! I hope I escape that. I had it outside today but brought it in for the night. It may be safe out there after tonight. I haven't potted it yet.

Yes, really sad about Barbara Bush. I'm sure most of us thought "41" would go first. Many are wearing pearls in her honor.

All of Houston is really sad about it, from what I hear.

Hiker .. Thanks for that reminder. Every once in awhile I get a gnat here and there and ONE can drive you nuts!

I was trying to remember your remedy. We sure will waste a lot of beer if I do that. [Big Grin] The smell might knock me over too! [lol]

Thursday-Mom's appointment was with her liver specialist. Apparently he's treating the cirrhosis and the other doc is the cancer interventional radiologist. So they think she's doing really well except they don't think her ongoing weakness and fatigue are from the chemo. They think it's related to her cirrhosis.

So Sunday we're traveling back up there and spending the night. MRI and labs super early Monday then in the afternoon we get the results of the cancer treatment from the interventional radiologist.

For exercise my plans today are to finish up with some potting and water the lawn and treat it with an herbicide that attaches to the hose. I don't know what happened to the lawn company that was supposed to come out. I've called them twice and they were supposed to be out last weekend and still haven't shown up.

Hope everyone has a great day and evening!

Well. I'm back. I'm pretty sure after spending half the night on fda.gov the miralax caused my fatigue and severe increase in cognitive sx. 2 days after stopping it I feel like a different person. Won't be dancing any jigs...but hopefully different than the whiner I've been the last few months.

At first I had more trouble talking...word recall...then kept losing things. Still haven't found checkbooks and whole bottle of pepcid. 4 days after shopping I found a bag of to main lettuce on the kitchen floor. Id been looking the whole time. Stuff like that used to happen before Lyme was treated

When I couldn't remember if I had taken meds I knew something was really wrong

Also...I wish I didn't get inv9loved with Mthfr. That's why I pushed salads. I miss them but it isn't worth it if they bring diver back. I can eat raw apples bananas pears and peaches. Not much more raw. And I don't eat much of those

Anyway...

Hiker thanks for reminding me about beer. I have an online recipe I made last year but don't remember what is in it

Ak. Thx for update. I list track of what 2as going on

Tutu...hope your polka dot is ok. Very cold rain here now. Snow soon. I posted my little blue flowers on fb but they are hard to see

Etta started the day with a coughing fit from her trachea problem. Coughed up tons of white foamy mucus. She's refusing her med for that. Vet assistant said the med is bitter. She will talk to him after he's out of surgery to see if there is another med....a liqued

I was up really late. I want shower and to get dressed...not sure how much longer til vet calls. I did go out with Etta for an hour and she searched for chipmunk. I was in wc. But it was good for both of us I think

I've been eating very small meals every 3 hrs and took 4oz prune juice this morning and things are moving better

Its high histamine and in hospital it gave me rash....but I had it at every meal so I hope a little will help without hurting

Also I'm trying slippery elm and need to get some aloe to try. The psyillium....idk. I have to plan a time to take it with tons of water away from meds healthy food

Thanks for being supportive friends!

lp--Managing meds is so hard with so much going on. Hang in there.

Ak--Sorry you have to go back to Atlanta, I know the traffic is a battle. Hope your mom can get some more energy.

Went grocery shopping right after work.

Then, raked sweet gum balls from the back yard.

I have a teen coming tomorrow after his school to mow. I have not met him, so I hope he works out.

Today was teacher meetings with goal setting for next year. I took a personal day.

Spent several hours in the yard, raking and weeding. Borrrowed my neighbor's leaf blower to get the leaves out of the flower beds. Was hoping it would blow the sweet gum balls, too, but they are stuck in the grass.

Used a pooper scooper to pick up all the pine cones. Found the idea on the internet.

Went to trusty Farm 'Fleet to get some supplies. Ran into a friend I used to do Bible study with. She works there. haven't seen her in years, but we exchanged phone numbers and I hope to meet up with her soon.

I think as I retire, it will be good for me to reach out and reconnect with old friend or meet new ones.

Sprayed some work clothes with permethrin. Still have a few do spray tomorrow.

Kyle is here now mowing the lawn. He is a freshman in high school--so much younger than the lad who mowed the past 4 years for me.

I think he was really nervous to come over since we had never met. Hopefully he will do a good job and the next time I won't have to be home.

May do Chipotles for dinner. Getting to be a Friday evening tradition.

hiker that sounds like a really nice day

i hope you find some retirement friends i remember the first day after retirement was final i sat on the porch step and watched leaves falling from a birch tree. for the first time in so long i felt like "i can do or not do whatever i want"

i had worked realy hard for a long time my first job was at 7 ...i had to make enough money to feed my first horse

and when i retired i did make so many new friends and do things i had wanted to do and never had time...i rode and kayaked ... it was the mast cell stuff that stopped friends...and activities...and now i might have found why it happened and hopfully i can fix it

i have spent many hours on computer trying to figure out how to deal with ibs and constipation without poisoning myself with wrong meds

i messaged a lot with friend in mexico who is recovering from mold and other toxins shes a medical person...i forget her exact titile but she gave me ideas for good quality magnesium, aloe, multi vit and fiber i researched them all and finally ordered this afternoon then i fell asleep for an hour or so

earlier i took etta out and walked around the yard to see my plants coming up i have alot of clipping of stalks and picking up of leaves to do

i will enjoy doing that i offered to help the neighbor who get s me groceries thin out her iris bed we are supposed to do it tmorrow she doesnt know how...and i prorobably cant do much physically...but it will be exercie just getting to her house in wc my legs still keep giving way and seem very weak

but today and tomorrows exercise are covered! along with happy feelings i always get around plants

hiker...after you spray your clothes do you ever wash them? i think i heard you can wash them and they will still repel ticks...is that correct?

also...what do you eat at chipotles? im so afraid of restaurants...and for now salads are out.

hope the boy works out.

see everyone later.

lp--I wash the permethrin sprayed clothes up to 7 times before I re-spray.

I eat a burrito bowl at Chipotles--rice, pinto beans, chicken, hot sauce, sour cream, cheese, guacamole and lettuce. Doesn't seem to bother me, but it is a lot of Calories and salt.

Kyle did fine mowing although he didn't seem to realize the mower was dying because it was out of gas. I helped him out by trimming around the fence etc. and sweeping the drive, but next time he is going to have to do it all to earn his pay.

Often I am not home when I have the lawn mowed. I think he will be responsible and lock up, though. Nice young man.

The teacher who took my job is now going to teach math at our school (which is what she teaches now), so my job is posted. Kind of sad to see it posted. Very late to be posting jobs and there are a lot of jobs to fill in our school district.

Friday-Spent most of the day helping my friend file a lien against her ex's property. Ugh! So much drama and back pedaling. Feel like I wasted my day. Josh told me not to get involved because I might get thrown under the bus for my advice and help. So much for good intentions!

No exercise today. Enjoyed reading everyone's posts.

Night everyone!

Sprayed one more round of clothes with tick repellant. Made sure to include garden gloves and baseball cap.

Walked 27 minutes.

Stopped by church for some "God time."

Went to usual local coffee shop for decaf.

Just found out a friend had a spinal stroke and is partially paralyzed. No use of legs or left hand. Say a prayer for Sharon.

Will relax this evening.
