Are you out strolling by the beach, walking through a flea market, weeding your garden, or perhaps cleaning your house?

Tell us about your exercise! [woohoo]

I did my shoulder exercises.

Did a load of laundry and then baked a chicken breast for later.

Beautiful day here with temps in the upper 70's.

Filled one bird feeder. Lots of birds still coming despite the hawks in the area.

Sat outside and read for awhile after watching the women's world cup soccer finals.

Back inside now to call my mom. Then probably go sit on the deck.

Have a great week! [Smile]

Thanks Hiker for getting us motivated for this week!

I did my home PT exercises and put the hoses up in the yard in preparation for our yard getting mowed.

Picked up a few things at the grocery store and cooked Sunday dinner.

I really need to get back to the gym and put myself on a more regimented sleep schedule. I can get so much more done if I wake up early and beat the heat to boot.

That's the plan anyway.... [Roll Eyes]

See everyone tomorrow!

Didn't sleep well last night. Am so ready to be done with the recliner, but every time I try my bed I roll over onto surgical shoulder.

Went to PT this morning and did another round of exercises this afternoon.

Went to chiropractor.

Need to get those toxins out of the body.

Hey gang. I'm still around. Not getting much done, really.

Can't do any exercise to speak of. I am able to shop, but that's about it. Trying to hit back to school sales for OCC.

Went to podiatrist last week. He's ordering an MRI of my foot. It's been hurting no less than 18 months now.

It's probably tendonitis .. but just watch .. It will say MILD tendonitis. LOL

I don't see any way I could walk in a boot. I have bad hips and 2 bulging discs in my back.

Speaking of which, I am going for traction twice a week. It helps. Now my shoulders are killing me again. Will go for acupuncture tomorrow.

AK .. I went out early today since I went for traction. GEE, it's cooler in the morning. WHO KNEW?? I gotta get with the program! I'm a night owl too.

Hiker .. that bed will come before too long!!!

Went to my grandma's sale today - it was just the family, with cousins and uncles as auctioneers. Lots of fun. Saw cousins from out of state that we don't get to see very often.

I got a quilt my grandma's grandma had..... so my great, great grandma. Both my grandma & her grandma lived to 101.

The most expensive thing that sold was two old family Bibles. I don't know exactly how old they were. The one sold for $325. and the other for $2100.

I had to leave before the sale was over, so I missed the furniture. There was a marble topped bedroom suite. Two of the dressers had marble tops.

Well....my good intentions weren't enough to get me to the gym. I did my PT and arm routine and shopped at a thrift store with Josh and then vegged out at his house.

I had a bad food day on top of being a couch potato! Seems like all I did was eat, eat and eat!

Ugh!

Tomorrow we're going to not one but two movies! More sitting and probably eating popcorn and no telling what else!

OK...I'm done beating myself up. I feel better now. [Roll Eyes]

Hiker I have the same problem with my bad shoulder. I sleep on it all the time and it wakes me up every night. Believe it or not it's become the new normal. Sad but true.

TuTu I honestly don't know how you get around like you do! I'm slowing down a bit myself especially with harder labor. I've had quite a few broken bones over the years and really feel it on some days.

Manna your family get together sounded awesome! The only thing I have of my grandmother's is her old Bible cover and one of her newer Bibles. I'm glad to have something to remember her by.

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow!

I was so tired last night that I slept like a log. Hurrah!

Did two sessions of my physical therapy exercises at home.

Sat outside for a little while and grounded my feet to the earth. I don’t know if it helps but I’m going to continue doing it.

I got my hair cut short this morning. The owner of the salon is retiring but her coworker is taking over. It’s only $18 for a haircut there and it’s inside a retirement center.

The senior citizens just love both of these ladies. One cute little man didn’t want to leave today and Shelly kept saying “my next client is here” but I had to wait a little bit longer. I didn’t mind.

I went to the library this afternoon and then filled the car with gas and filled the birdfeeders. I need to go get more birdseed.

I’m going to relax the rest of the day.

The heat is ramping up again and so is the humidity. By the weekend it will be in the 90s again and I think it’s going to stay there. 93 tomorrow.

Last week over the 4th I had a multiple day yard sale and got rid of most of it but it was exhausting. Then Monday I drove 4 hrs each way to really good new doc who is helping me with mast cell issues. I did get trash out this morning and started to pay bills but they got messed up cuz of yard sale so I’m resting and will attack the bills later. I am able to sleep flat in bed now after 4 months really good PT but I’m very glad I have the adjustable bed. I know my other shoulder has problems too and don’t know what the future brings. I just bought a full base and used my old mattress. It’s fine. I’m glad I have it. A twin could be used when needed and then as a daybed when not needed. And that is even cheaper.

Went to physical therapy this morning and then did a session of exercises at home.

Worked on my Bible study for tomorrow.

Yesterday I used my trekking poles with both arms for the first time since shoulder surgery. Just across a parking lot, but I think I will be able to take short walks soon...

As soon as it cools down.

The lady who power washed my deck was supposed to come weatherproof it tomorrow. Sadly, her father is very ill and she doesn't think she is going to be able to finish the job.

So, I am back to square one looking for someone. This would be the perfect week as no rain in sight for 4 days.

The guys she sent marred my pergola while power washing and she was going to stain that for free. Now, I don't get that perk if I start over with someone new. May wait until fall to see if she can do it then.

So my town had an all day party in the park on Saturday for 4th of July festivities.
4 bands, food trucks, beer tent, splash pad for kiddies.
I went for 2 hours in the afternoon. Came home. And went back for fireworks set to patriotic music. What a great time.

THIS WAS SO HUGE FOR ME!!!!!!

Crowds, noice, anxiety, stamina, vertigo, pain. . . no problem.

I will now jinx myself and declare I am now in another fabulous remission phase. Living each minute and day in Gods glorious graces. 🌟

Way to go, Bonnie!! Enjoy every minute & day of feeling better!

My son got a nutritional IV the latter part of May. He has been eating better ever since and has actually put on a little weight.

He's still quite skinny, only likes to wear the pants with adjustable waist bands to keep them tight enough to stay up.

I pulled weeds in the garden last night and finished the 2 rows tonight. The 'skeeters are BAD! Now I can see the lovely row of celery and the peppers!

We planted an heirloom sweet pepper mix of colors and a few jalapeno peppers. Hopefully there's a nice mix of colors. Red, yellow, orange, white, chocolate & black are the possible colors.

Went with my nephew, Mom and her BFF to the large indoor flea market we frequent and walked around for about 3 1\2 hours! Had so much fun and found a couple of 'treasures'. One was a large mirror for $5, a fine hand beaded bracelet from Honduras and some more older Corning Ware cookware.

Fell madly in love with a 50ish solid mahogany dresser and mirror and a dining room table and 4 chairs. Not sure what wood the table and chairs are but they were a beautiful simplistic mid-century modern.

I didn't buy either of those but am very tempted to go and get the dresser. All I have is a chest of drawers and the dresser was an affordable $165.

Hiker sure hope you find someone to do the weatherproofing! Glad you got a good night's rest too.

Kayak so glad you're being treated for Mast cell issues. I only see my doc once a year unless I'm having problems. He wants to do more testing but since I lost my health insurance after my divorce all that's on hold.

BB it was so wonderful to hear that you were able to celebrate the 4th! I hope you continue to have more better days!

Hi Manna! Great news about your son! I love to hear about your gardening adventures. I can just picture those wonderfully vibrant peppers.

Well....time to wind down for the evening.

Night everyone!

YAY for Bonnie...That's awesome!!

Hiker .. sorry to hear about your deck. I would be bummed too.

AK .. I hope things work out with dresser. I'm now so afraid of buying anything "new" to me.

I left a frying pan on the stove too long yesterday with only butter in it. My brain is way foggy from all the moldy stuff in here and now I've added smoke to the mix.

Just grateful I did't burn the place down. Thank God for smoke detectors. Everybody needs to check their batteries!

Our contractor is going to tear out our tub with jacuzzi jets next week. So he came over to measure and all that this morning. Not happy about spending the money, but this will be a good move.

We don't use that tub anyway and it was harboring mold inside and out.

I'll have a shower and the extra space will be turned into a nice linen closet! YAY!

Traction is going well .. had acupuncture on Tuesday. I'll probably go back again next week. I usually wait two weeks.

LP .. I'm glad you found a good doctor. So sorry you have to drive so far, but it is what it is. Onward, forward.

Bonnie--sounds wonderful.

Manna--Mosquitoes are horrible here as well.

Ak--Sounds like you found some bargains.

I did my shoulder exercises and my shoulder feels like it is going to fall off. Therapist is really working me hard and I have not been this sore in weeks.

I went to the grocery store and running a full cart around the aisles didn't help the shoulder much, either. Forgot a few items on my list, but am not going back.

Hired a guy to work on my deck. He said he would not stain it without power washing it first as there was still some algae.

Fine with me, since I didn't have to pay the gal for the horrible power wash job her guys did. Anyway, this guy's total price was a lot cheaper than hers and he power washed the gutters and the siding on the north side of the house, too.

He will be back in a few days to weatherproof the deck. So, I am actually better off now that this has happened.

Sat outside and grounded my feet to the earth while I did a crossword puzzle. Very toxic today.

Heading back to ice the shoulder again. May have to call my BFF to hook up the ice machine at bedtime. Haven't done that in a few weeks.

Thanks friends for your encouragement.

I was taking care of my mother but had to set boundaries due to my health. I apologized that I could not do it every week day ( my sister comes into town every weekend.) Now I go over to her house 3x a week. Physically, mentally, emotionally, it all contributed to my longest relapse to date. Been sick since September, started back up on full protocol in November.

Now on just Babs meds.

Prolotherapy got rid of all my back pain from herniated disks.
No more lifting!
No more pulling weeds!
No more physical therapy.

Lymetoo - cooking takes concentration. I burnt hard boiled eggs and the only way I knew was from the popping sound of them exploding.

Hiker - Do you find you are changed more for home improvement jobs because you are female?

MamaMe - Healing wishes to your son.

akinwlf - I like going to estate sales. I too bought Corning ware casserole dishes with lids.

Hiker .. I was thinking that maybe things would turn out better for you! Yay!!

Bonnie... I'm glad you set your boundaries. You have to get some rest. I cared for my mother for 7 years while she was in an assisted living and nursing home.

She was 15 miles from me at first, then 25 miles later. I did all of this while going through Lyme treatment. It was HARD.

Our contractor came over today and things are set for Monday. Not sure how I can stay here while he does this, but not wanting to spend money on a motel again either!!

I guess I will try to suck it up, but my head is about to explode from the toxins in the smoke yesterday combined with the mold in the air.

PS .. Went for traction this morning.

Bonnie —I usually don’t get taken advantage of because I’m a woman. I really do my research well before I hire somebody or I buy something. But it is definitely something to watch out for.

Tutu— hoping the contracting work doesn’t bother you too much and I’m sure you’ll be delighted with the results.

AK— any decisions on that furniture yet?

I went to physical therapy today and practically begged him to put me on the table and stretch me out. That is something I normally hate doing.

The therapist says I’ve had a bit of a setback but that’s not unusual. This weekend I am not to do any flex band exercises or weights and concentrate on range of motion and stretching.

I am sitting outside with my head and arms in the shade and my legs in the sun grounding myself to the earth. Such a nice day out and I know there won’t be many like this for the rest of the summer.

My BFF went and bought me 10 pounds of bird seed. I am not supposed to carry that much weight yet but it was only five dollars and I just use a cup to scoop out the seed and fill the feeders.

Just going to be lazy the rest of the day although I do have an energy healing scheduled later.

I really need to water my flowers but I really can’t drag the hose around the yard yet with my shoulder issues. I haven’t had to water all summer due to the excessive rain.

I am defrosting previously cooked meatloaf, so I don’t even have to cook tonight. Just add a salad and a vegetable and I’m good to go.

See you tomorrow.

Did my PT exercises.

Cooked some and did a load of laundry.

Walked around the cul-de-sac with my trekking poles.

Then sat in the lawn chair to ground myself to earth with shoes off.

I need the calming effect because I got an unexpected EOB related to shoulder surgery and I am going to contest it. It is for surgical assistants who are out of my insurance network. And why I would need 4 surgical assistants is beyond me.

Now, when I called the surgicenter prior to surgery. I did ask if everyone working on me was in network. They said, "yes." but of course I don't have a recording of the phone call.

Monday I will call the surgeon's office and the surgical assistant's office and put in a big time complaint. Can't believe the surgeon would use surgical assistants that aren't covered by BCBS since BCBS is a major insurance in the area.

I had the surgery done at the surgicenter because it was cheaper than the hospital, but not I am wishing I had it at the hospital as it would have ended up cheaper.

Maybe the surgeon will eat the cost of this for me as I have not gotten a bill just the EOB. Surgery was 3 months ago.

No need to get worked up anymore about it as I have to wait until Monday to make the phone calls.

Worked in the yard yesterday trimming bushes and some trees. Bagged what I could and threw larger stuff over the fence towards the curb for the city to pick up.

Had another guy come out today to trim trees higher up along our fence line. He did a great job for $100 so we might use him for more extensive work.

Today I've been vegging because my SI joint is irritated probably from yard work.

Still squeezed in my PT and arm routine.

Hiker as much as I love the dresser it's a no go. My room has a rather large desk in it and I don't have enough room for the dresser. Hate to hear you've had a setback on the shoulder. I'd take it easy until it feels better. Kudos on the walk!

TuTu so relieved you didn't burn down the house! Do you have an ozone generator? I bought one for around $65 from Amazon and it sure gets rid of odors from cooking and mold. Glad the whole ordeal comes with a silver lining in the form of a bath remodel.

BB it's hard to set boundaries with an ailing parent. I'm not working right now and am able to take my Mom to her appointments plus since we live together now I do all the housework and almost all of the cooking. Also I maintain the vehicles and yard. Once I go back to work I'm going to have to hire folks to relief me of some of the work.

Well...off to shop on Amazon.

AK .. we have some small ozone machines. Our big one broke. $65 sounds good. I hope your SI joint behaves soon!

The smoky smell has finally cleared. Gag me.

hiker .. I bet he will take care of that...sounds pretty goofy that they would mess up like that.

I ran errands today and even went by the place we got our wedding gear to show the manager some pictures from the wedding. She loved them!

Not happy that we will get more rain thanks to the tropical storm. The good news is that I don't live in Louisiana!! Those poor people!!
