For those who don't remember, Lymenet use to have a NewsLetter. In it was this report about Lawrence Zemel.
February 12, 1996
QUOTE- "After an extensive inquiry, charges against Dr. Phil Watsky, a family physician in Bristol, Connecticut, were dropped last week by the Connecticut Medical Board of Examiners.
Dr. Watsky was under investigation for the alleged overdiagnosis and overtreatment of Lyme disease. In addition, he had been accused of "profiteering" from "unnecessary" therapies.
The investigation was launched on the basis of a complaint filed in 1993 by Dr. Lawrence Zemel, Director of Pediatric Rheumatology at Newington Children's Hospital.
No patient or ex-patient of Dr. Watsky participated in the investigation or in any way suggested that he or she received anything less than satisfactory care."

Here is a letter, amongst other things, that Lawrence Zemel sent to the CT Department of Health.
In it he is reporting a Lyme treating doctor and he offers to teach the health department employees how to sneak in an office to try to catch a Lyme doctor doing something wrong.

I have to ask myself what year is this? While I am not necessary a fan of what is referred to as "Cancel Culture" here is a great example of where it would be useful. This Dr. needs to be called out and publicly shamed. Anyone who used the facts quoted in that article to support his narrative is simply an operator with an agenda and an enormous ego.
Symptoms lasting 6 months ? really...that's what chronic lyme is? tell that to my wife and kids who've watched me suffer for a decade.
This is tantamount to yelling fire in a movie theater.
When does it ever end?...seriously.

God forbid if any family or loved one's of Dr Zemel's contracts Lyme and associated diseases, The very brave human-beings, our LLMD'S, who could possible save their lives, would be conflicted to take them on as a patient. And who could blame them?

And, I will never understand why a new illness always has to go through the "crazy" stage - "its all in your head" - before it gets accepted with real research and real treatment.
