Someone posted a blog about making 'ice mandalas' for decorating their yard.

They look like very large Christmas Tree decorations made of ice with bright-colored stuff frozen into it, sometimes cranberries or things that might feed birds, sometimes just pretty stuff like colored paper and colored glass.

I think you'd probably do this by putting water and decorations into the bottom of a bucket and leaving it out overnight or using a plate or big Tupperware in your freezer, then letting it warm just a little bit to release the finished product before hanging:

this seems like a fairly easy decoration project that some of ye fatigued people might be able to do with your kids or whatnot. It would certainly cheer me up to see this in the yard on a cold day!
