Everyone should understand America's reality and, I think, less than 10% do.

Hi grandmother! Good to see you again. Although I agree with the premise regarding debt, downturn in economic conditions, etc. I do not agree that holding gold is the answer, esp. if deflation is a player and I think it will be. Should this be the case, please look at the following website:

www.elliottwave.com

Also, have you been watching 'Stossel' on FOX? Very interesting! I whole-heartedly agree with his take on competition and fair business practices are what truly made USA a great place... Now, what's fair about it? We are still the greatest country in the world, but Rome was also a great Empire, Greece, Persia, Babylon, Assyria and Egypt... Where are they now?

I agree that gold is not the answer but for a different reason.

You wouldn't want to buy a loaf of bread with a gold coin.

I'm for holding junk silver...Pre 1965 dimes, quarters and half dollars.

America is tanking and I fear for all of us.

grandmother - I guess I'm not understanding your plan. So, the USA is tanking and you're holding precious metals... Then what?

The Congress is working really hard to put us into so much debt that we will NEVER recover. Then just about any country can take us over...esp China who holds most of our debts.

America is tanking and almost no one knows it.

If we Americans don't find our collective ****s, in the very near future, we are in for some very rough times in the not-too-distant future.

grandmother - I disagree with the statement that very few people know that America is tanking. In fact, I would say that a good many people know, but haven't the courage to stand up and work their own personal sphere of influence. Fact is that many of these people don't even vote on a regular basis.

When you look at the history of the great empires of the past, it's obvious that everyone knew the fall was coming, but were either too lazy, too timid, or too self-centered to put themselves out there and work their part of it.

Strangely enough, a drugged-out and now dead rock star said it best, "I'm gonna get mine before the whole sh- - house goes up in flames!" - Jim Morrison

Sad, but true.

Please link to my new signature. I don't know if this is true but others, Gerald Celente, among them, are predicting American food shortages. Protect yourselves.
