What do you do when a friend and co-worker keeps sending you crap about the political party your for?

Day after day, it's e-mail after e-mail putting down your political party. I've NEVER told her or anyone WHO they are.

I would NEVER send crap that she sends me about her party, so why does she keep sending s--t about hers? She puts down Walmart and people who shop their.

I finally got p---ed and let her know how I feel.

Maybe since you never said anything and you didn't tell her to stop.. she just THOUGHT you were on "her" side.

I can see how it could happen. People know not to send me stuff and I don't send to others that I KNOW which party they belong to.

Hope that made some sense.

I'd be upset too I do believe.....but... she didn't know.

She may have not known, but assuming means...WHAT?

Lymetoo, I do not believe you would send an e-mail expressing your views on a political party you are against, unless you knew, that that person was of the same party as yours.

This person also has a daughter who was diagnosed with M.S..

I did mention lyme disease and sent some info. on it. She thinks I'm nuts, yet her daughter is still having tests done because she's NOT getting better.

I keep my opinions to myself now because they don't want to hear it.

I have a friend who's always sending me those walmart emails. I don't get it either. (She thinks they're hilarious.)

As for the political emails, that is SO wrong. If it's a company email account or on company time, I'd send an email to everyone in the office/company with a copy of the policy on "emails on company time" or something like that.

I've worked at places where sending any email using company email that was political or religious in nature, pornographic, or a request for money for a charity fundraiser was against the rules. Everyone was informed of this on their first day of orientation.

It was considered unprofessional to send email like this, and it just wasn't done.

This hasn't spared me in my personal life. I've had relatives send me emails about their own beliefs and causes, and I basically end up ignoring them unless I find them really offensive. I will tell them at that point, and fortunately in a number of cases it has led to interesting conversations. In some of them, we just had to agree to disagree - but at least we could let each other know what our positions were and got better at communicating them.

I don't open them. I just delete them. But, I usually don't read most of the forward emails I get...you know the ones...

In some email programs, you just click on send to all on your mailing list.

So, I don't take it personally. I figured they just clicked on send to all.

I am amazed at the ignorance of some well educated people when it comes to politics.

i make no bones about what i am or where i shop.

but we get tons of mail from mike's friends. so much that i just delete it.

jokes, cartoons, anything from web sites, etc., all gets deleted.

and only our friends know how to discuss politics with us.

besides, we're all the same religion and political leaning.

I put an equal amount of effort that it took to send the email-click-delete and I never say a word. If people ask me if I read their "political" email, I politely say,"I don't read any political emails, thanks"
