Cool! I haven't seen ice skating in person in YEARS. I enjoy watching them on TV, that is for sure!

penguingirl - yes indeed you will have to go to the next one - if Boston was as good as Portland it was a real treat. I confess that watching Sasha Cohen skate was on my lifes 'bucket list' - and she did not disappoint.
I like all the 'pretty' sports; skating, diving, gymnastics... a bit of tennis too (love that Rodger F!)

Sasha was always my favorite to watch... EXCEPT that she kept falling all the time when she was in the Olympics and such. Very disappointing.

But her style is mesmerizing.

Yes Sasha was my favorite too - so graceful and her spirals were amazing.

But I agree - not a consistent jumper in the Olympics. = (

However I'd still rather watch Sasha ANY day with falls over Rachael Flatt who might not fall but is just not pleasing to watch (IMO).

What happened to Tara Lapinski? I did not like her but I know she went pro?

Evan Lysacheck is dating Nastia Lukin the Olympic gymnast. Well at least in 2010.

cool--so glad to hear of someone getting to go to Stars on Ice [Smile]

I always loved to watch Scott Hamilton, too, and Todd Eldridge except he also could not get through an Olympics without falling, and Kristi Yamaguci, and Alexei Yagudin, and Michelle Kwan, and I didn't used to like Sasha Cohen but I do now.

I love ice skating [Smile]

I used to go to all of the Champions On Ice events when they came to my city.

I was VERY good at getting front row seats, and one time I was snapping a picture of Viktor Petrinko while he was skating, I caught his attention with the flash, and he came and sat on my lap!!!!!!

My favorites were Gordeeva and Grinkov. I cried like a baby when Sergi Grinkov died.
