OMG my baby's only nine and is growing underarm hair and getting a few pimples....where does the time go?
Anyway, I had horrible mood issues when I was in puberty and I want to help her minimize them as much as possible. I would hate for her to feel the way I did. I can already tell that she's been a bit moody at times.
I'm planning on improving my family's diet...we really need to cut out the fast food and the sugar....but are there any other specific changes I can make like certain foods or herbs that will help?Food she should avoid?
And how can I get her to exercise more? We can go for walks but where I live is not too conducive to outdoor activities. There are no sidewalks, just desert sand. And it's either really hot or really cold. I wonder what I can get her to do inside that she might like? I personally go to the gym to work out or do yoga at home. She's too young for the gym and I can't seem to get her to do the yoga with me.
Any advice from parents who have been through this? And anything besides diet and exercise that may help?

After school sports, extracurricular activities and clubs are a must! They need to spend time with their peers and gain a sense of accomplishment. Whether it be on the sports field or the drama club or the academic arena,etc... you get the picture.
The diet is an excellent start. I also found the Wii to be invaluable for one of my kids. The others, not so much. [By now, the wii is outdated though, I guess.]
