They accepted the nomination of Andy Wilson! I noticed the bio is a bit outdated and just asked them to go to the openeyepictures site to update it, especially regarding the fact the film is done.

And Andy's bio is not updated yet. Tried to send an email. Will try again later.

I only saw Andy listed at this point. He's on page 5, with 500-something votes so far, I think. Well, it says views - I'm not sure if a view means a vote.
It would be a good idea I think for more of us to email the organization to ask for the bio update - the film is not in production - it's done!

i'm going to email andy wilson asking if they would send out an open eye post about our nominating him and giving the website.
i looked; he was on page 5; now he's somewhere else again??
kam, yes, dr. charles jones sounds wonderful also; do you want to complete the form and nominate him??
anyway, we've got to advertise andy wilson IMMEDIATELY to start getting the votes coming in.
then when lorraine johnson, dr. jones' names appear ... we can let them know about that as well.
thanks everyone! i tried again; could vote ONLY ONCE!
I don't think we get to see the number of votes cast.
But high number of views is an indication of interest level. I noticed the profile view count is rising quickly - over 600 views now.

Lymetoo...it took me about 3 times visiting the site to see that I needed to do a search for Andy Wilson.
Then click under his name where it says vote I think.
Going to see if I can pull his name up again.

Robin, can you vote more than once a day? The sight says I have 8 votes left, but it would not let me vote again today, at least for Andy. I admit to being the village ill=literate with computers! Thanks
Would also like to nominate the other Dr. J, as a measure of support. I will try to figure it out tommorow.

We're doing good! At least as far as view numbers! Every time I get back here, the view count has gone up by a hundred.
Betty, I see him listed on pg 3. That's interesting all by itself - he moved from pg 7 to pg 5 to pg 3. If this keeps up, he's going to be found on pg 1 soon.
Everyone, vote multiple times. Alright, jus' kidding, but tell everyone else to cast their vote.
Ticked-off, they're allowing us to appreciate up to ten people on that list.
Since they are looking for changemakers in society, we actually have several Lyme folks who have influenced the course of things Lyme, so think about it, and make nominations. Let's nominate a bunch of Lyme mover-shakers! The site needs to accept the nomination.
In my nomination, I wrote about Andy's film contributions, and I also mentioned Kris Newby's contribution to the film.
I notice that they went ahead and pulled up what appears to be an old openeyepictures write-up. It would be nice if it were updated from the film being in production to being finished!

edit bio; ADD TO BIO; so i sent this there to the change.org site
ANDY WILSON nominee, please add the following to his bio; thanks
to whom it may concern,
Please add about UNDER OUR SKIN: Under Our Skin was seen in the largest USA cities in 2009 on the big screen with large crowds in attendance. UOS is a lyme/tick documentary based on 4 lyme patient lives. It shows the lyme war controversary of 2 different ways to treat lyme and co-infections:
ILADS, International Lyme Associated Disease Society, known to us lyme patients as chronic LLMDS, lyme literate mds, who treat long-term antibiotics longer than 3 weeks up to several years.
IDSA, Infecious Disease Society of America, known as infectious disease drs., who treat from ONE pill up to 3 weeks max antibiotics, and "you are cured"! NOPE, you are undertreated and end up with chronic lyme disease.

Yes, he's on the first page now! Went from pg 7 to pg 5 to pg 3 to pg 1 in a matter of hours! Pretty soon we'll see www.change.org/AndyWilson
And the view count has doubled as of last nite!
Lymetoo, I nominated you, but looks like they were concerned about those drawers of yours...

Andy is now on page 1, 2nd to Colin Powell! My guess is this reflects the speed at which he's getting votes.
I can only imagine that people who don't know who he is must be wondering just who he is??!!
So keep letting people know!

I think it is too late this year to nominate CALDA or LDA...but perhaps next year.

Thx, Betty - but I definitely told them the UOS film was being widely shown! A film in production, as their write-up states, would not be causing all this attention!
Well, maybe, from now on, if Andy has films in production, people will be paying attention to what's coming next!

quoting andy wilson in the email i sent him about his nomination and asking him to put it out in his newsletter to folks ...
"Thanks Betty! I sent them an email to change the bio to say more about UOS. Hope that comes though. I'd feel more comfortable then being a "changemaker."
My Best, Andy
i'm still reading all the pms and regular emails so there might be more; who knows? lol

Thanks Betty for contacting Andy about that. The bio they have listed does him no justice. As we all know it is changing and saving lives and his Bio should reflect that. Prehaps we should write some and submit them on his behalf?
Thanks, Ann

open eye sent out their newsletter and actress JOANNA KERNS daughter was just diagnosed with lyme disease!!
On October 26th, UNDER OUR SKIN screened at the Arclight Cinema in Hollywood as part of Variety's Screening Series of "the most anticipated movies of the season." Only a handful of documentaries were chosen for the series, which highlights films seen as possible contenders for the Oscar race.
Filmmaker Andy Abrahams Wilson and actress Joanna Kerns (above) were on hand for a lively Q&A.
Kerns spoke of the struggles with her daughter's Lyme disease, only recently diagnosed after years of health problems and misdiagnoses.
She also acknowledged how celebrities with the disease are reluctant to come forward because of fear for their careers. ******************************
On November 4th, Variety shows UNDER OUR SKIN as part of its screening series in New York, where many press and film industry representatives promise to attend.
Thanks to Turn The Corner Foundation (see below) for generously sponsoring these screenings

Tried to get the November e-newsletter to show up but it wouldn't go through. Guess anyone who wants to receive it can go sign up at their site - www.openeyepictures.com
As Betty said, it may be an Oscar documentary contender this year!
They are allowing community screenings to happen again, anywhere folks want to do them.
We can vote for the documentary in the Internet Movie Database - they said it's moved up to 37th in the list of 250 documentaries being voted upon!
We can also vote for Andy at www.change.org/changemakers A high vote means he gets to have a worldwide voice that goes out to millions of activists.
Anyone who hasn't yet cast their vote for him there can go vote - type Andy Abrahams Wilson into the search box. Let's move him from 5th page back to the first page again!
