Do you know that most scientific research about Lyme disease relates to vaccine development? Very little is aimed at finding a cure. Scientists who want to do patient-oriented research find it difficult to get funding. (The IDSA has a stranglehold on most Lyme research funds.)
That's why the California Lyme Disease Association partners with other patients groups to fund the kind of research patients need. That's why our 2010 CALDA Lymewalks are raising money for Lyme research.
You can help us, even if you can't come to the walks in person. You can make a fundraising page at our website (free, and easy to do) and email the link to people you know, telling them why raising money for Lyme research is so important to you. They, in turn, can make a secure, on-line, tax-deductible donation to CALDA's research fund. All proceeds from the Lymewalks will go to patient-oriented research.
