Moderators, please leave this in this section and do not close it off. Once you do that it falls to the bottom and on to the next page. It is crucial that everyone sees this and participates in it.
This topic needs as much exposure as possible. What is the harm if it is in several sections for a short while?? What is more important than this issue right now? Lymenet should not be getting in the way of getting the word out.
Is it NOT more important that everyone see this information rather than having it in the proper section?? How long have we fought for this, years many years over twenty?
Give this topic all the exposure it needs, PLEASE.
EVERYONE PLEASE GO TO ACTIVISM AND SIGN ON TO THIS URGENT LYME INITIATIVE AND ASK THE GOVERNOR TO SIGN BILL NUMBER S7854-A7558B INTO LAW
Anyone from any state can make their voice hear, that means every member of lymenet and your friends and family, too. Send it to everyone in your address book.
Please urge the NY governor to sign Bill Number S7854-A7558B into law. This protects more than residents of New York State. How many of you live out of state and see New York State LLMDs?
If this is signed into law it can spark momentum for other states, maybe your state, to follow suit.

Thanks. I too agree that on topics of enormous importance like this, allowing it to appear in medical for a short time should occur. Every doctor in NY that treats chronic lyme has been targeted by the state medical board in spite of a memo written some years back saying they would not do it. We need this law, and we need the governor to sign it now. It is the result of activism for more than a decade.
When we see as many posts and people viewing them in activism as we do in medical, then we will have reached the point where things will change for us. Until then, rules should be bent temporarily at times of great crisis.

Well said and Lymenet of all organizations should not be impeding this effort nor do I believe that is their intention but sometimes rules can be temporarily suspended for issues of such urgency, such as this one.

Hi - it's fine to post a thread here asking for some action! Then if you would, please have the discussion on the Activism thread you posted. We do want to train everyone to go to Activism too!

Please share a new web link just posted under "MAKE NY STATE BILLS S07854 AND A07558B NYS LAW!" in the Activism section with your Facebook friends. It contains information about how to contact Governor Cuomo, links to a sample letter and to the NYS bill and NYS Senate Lyme Task Force Press Release and Report:
As Governor Andrew Cuomo works his way through a stack of bills approved at the end of the legislative session, people in the Lyme awareness community are hoping he'll ink a bill that will expand treatment options for people with this disease. The co-director of the Lyme Action Network says, the bill will help the many people who suffer from chronic illness after being bitten by infected ticks. . .

How many of you have contacted the Governor to urge him to sign the Lyme Bill into law?
This affects us all. Please go to activism, use the link above, to do so. It doesn't matter what state you live it. There is a link for New York State residents and one for non residents.

up, up, up! Major UP!! Time is of the essence here----we need to blast him with huge numbers of people emailing and calling.
He does have presidential ambitions, so he should care about what people think about him beyond NY state. (However, campaign $$ from the IDSA guys into his campaign fund will talk----so we have to counteract that with numbers & personal messages).

Back up to the top.
If you have not called or filled out the email form to contact the governor, it's time to do so. We cannot let an opportunity like this pass.
This bill can lead the way for other states to follow suit for the benefit of all patients.
