Dear Lyme Friends,

I have positive Lyme, Babs, and Bart tests.

My LLMD gave me a prescription for Zithromax, and within 5 minutes of taking the first pill, I was feeling better, with my neurological symptoms decreasing.

I've now been taking it for a bit over a week, and my speech is more clear, my thinking is faster, my memory is better, my body movement is faster and more certain.

The only increase of symptoms have been trasient very itchy eyes, some knee soreness that comes and goes, and tingling in my jaw.

Still have to nap and get fatigued, but have been able to hang in there on getting things done better than it's been for months.

With all the emphasis on herxing, that I'm doing sooooo much better has me worried. No, really!! Is this just pushing the critters into hiding, or is this real progress??

Any comments would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Cass A

I think that is great news for you.

So glad to see and hear of someone with immediate improvement and no herx!

I think that without doing a cyst buster with the antibiotic,

You may never know if you are getting all of those ketes.

Hopefully, you just continue to get better and better.

Hugs,

Geneal

Well, everyone is different, and it is great that you have had a quick positive response. I hope that lasts and that you continue to improve. Just be ready in case there is a roller-coaster, and you have some lows again before the next improvement.

After years of untreated lyme and babs, I actually felt much better after my first 10 days of doxy when I started treatment over a year ago! So it happens. I knew within a couple of days that the doxy was killing some bug that I wanted to get rid of - the effect was quickly powerful. Of course, I was by no means all better, but it was an immediate undeniable improvement, and that has helped me stay the course during the last year of continuing tx.

Cass, your results from zithromax is heartening. I have my first visit with Dr. C next week, and I hope he gives me that ABX. I can't tolerate many including doxy.

What is your doctor't initial? I'm wondering if you have same doc.

I'm going to make a mental note of your ABX for babs and Lyme.

Thanks,
CherylSue

I guess it's possible that the initial loading dose is bacteriocidal or that there's some anti inflammatory effect.

I had the same initial reaction to zithro, also to bactrim, but it took a couple of hours to kick in...

Dear CherylSue,

My Dr. is Dr. G, in Californina. Not likely we have the same dr. unless you travel a LOOOONG way!

Best,
