I know OF or about some of the duck Lyme clinics up north.. not even sure which one is where... but I have to find detailed information on 2 duck Lyme clinics in NY... 2 in NJ.. and one in CT.

Need this for a project I'm working on. Does anyone have the names of these places and general location? I'll do the rest of the research.. just need a lead to the names and locations so I can get started.

Also.. one of them .. don't know which one.. just closed down ... according to the information I just got (closed due to money problems?). Anyone have info on that one?

SURE would love some help on this.. if you know!!!

Tanks berry mush!

Hey Foggy.. so good to see you. Thanks for sharing. I am STILL awful at initials.. and I don't want to bother you.. but.... can you tell me what BU is? And this one...

"Kahlish is at the N.E. Med Ctr." Not sure what Kahlish is? But you are on the right track so far.. that IS what I am looking for.. DUCK clinics.

Appreciate it!

````````````````````````````````````````
````````````````````````````````````````

Bea...

Thanks so much for checking. The two NY ones are right I think (?)... so thanks! Will dig in deeper on them.

The Rhode Island one... is that definetely.. I mean (rain man) da da definitely a duck place? I am not familiar??

As for the others.. while I am making a list.. might as well get ALL DUCK clinics listed here... so keep them coming!

Robert Wood Johnson.. is that NJ? Or CT?

Funny I know the rotten reputations of the palces.. but haven't gotten my geography straight.. I just know they are "somewhere" up north.

And NO.. I don't want any LLMD's on this list. This is a DUCK list only!!!

THANKS!!!

There's a Lyme Disease Clinic at Rhode Island Hospital.

And BU stands for Boston University. [Smile]

TinCup,

Don't know anything about the Rhode Island one myself -- didn't even know it existed until I did the search.

Probably need to add John Hopkins in Baltimore, MD to your list.

This is revealing...

"With regard to the clinical studies on patients with post-treatment chronic Lyme disease, the Klempner research team published the results of a treatment trial, which determined that 90 days of antibiotics were not better than placebo and that evidence of persisting borrelial infection could not be found. They have recently demonstrated a lack of HLA haplotype association with persisting symptoms indicating that an autoimmune cause for persistent symptoms is less likely"

Tincup,

Robert Wood Johnson is in New Brunswick, NJ. When we went to the pediatric emergency room seeking treatment early on b/c we had already been everywhere else, the Duck on call sent us home with Zantac for heartburn.

Completely ignored all classic lyme symptoms that were spelled out for them.

My child couldn't walk....did you know heartburn can do this???

off topic a bit:

John Hopkins; I got a survey from them this week to complete about their WHITE PAPERS of info on 13 illnesses.

LYME disease wasn't listed & I wrote a bunch on my reply about it being added and getting ACCURATE info as well as good LLMD health care!

I wanted a CHRONIC LYME DISEASE "white paper" booklet like they do of the other illnesses.

Expressed to white paper director how disappointed I was that when they have any updated info; they didn't just send the NEW info out only but they send entire booklet where you have for REDUNDANT info you paid earlier for.

I don't expect an answer, but I used the opportunity to express myself on their shortcomings!

Sorry Tincup, back to your wanting DUCK clinics! Best wishes on your newest project; we appreciate everything you are doing, and you are loved regardless if you do this project or not.

Now go eat your ice cream....Bettyg

The new RI Hospital clinics (adult & pediatric) are indeed duck places. "Treatment" for chronic Lyme = referral to fibro clinic, etc. No long-term abx.

Yo HO! Excellent information.

I will be digging into these places for my ongoing project.. and want to thank ALL of you for the help.

I have hit a snag in the plans... and sort of freaked at first.. but now am trying to address it the best I can and move along.

Ya know.. sometimes these duck motels and clinics AREN'T VERY NICE!

But I DO appreciate the help! Now... I'll go back to the drawing board.

Thanks again all!

[Big Grin]

PS.. BettyG..

Way to go!

You can give Hopkins the what-for anytime you want. I love it!

Tincup,

Thought of a couple more to add.

Pretty sure most LymeNet posters would say the the Mayo Clinic needs to be on the list.

Also, pretty sure the Cleveland Clinic as well.

I have a name of a clinic in NJ that the insurance companies are getting their IME's from to deny coverage. I recently went through the process because HBCBS of NJ is denying all antibiotic coverage for my Lyme and Babesia.

The IME they used was a Dr. H and the group was called The Lyme Disease Center. I couldn't believe when I heard this because I know of all the good doctors and I had never heard of this group. Apparently, they are out of Princeton and have many different infectious disease doctors in their group. They have 7 offices across NJ. He even has a website.

I have expert doctors saying I have the diseases, CDC positive tests from different labs for the Lyme and the Babs and even a stomach tissue sample. The duck, in his review, questioned if I even had the diseases and questioned the validity of the labs and went into a bunch of bull. I was outraged when I read this guys summary about my case and my health.

My case in now at the State Appeals level since HBCBS of NJ took his opinion. If this doesn't go my way I am going to seek legal counsel because he is claiming to be a Lyme disease group yet is denying my case which has so much evidence.

If you need more info or his letterhead or wesbite let me know. This is a BIG group and I think many people are going to them and not getting better. Liek I said they are under one umbrella and have office all over NJ
