Hey everyone I am considering IV rocephin, updating my orals or bicillin shots. I have been on doxy for 4 months and plaquenil for 1.5 with some improvement madebut still very ill. My thinking was that IV rocephin is the most aggressive and the way to go, but after reading some of these posts about relapses from this treatmentIm just not sure. Please help!

i had only one dose of IV rocephin while in the ER the other day. and my liver enzymes shot up to around 200-300.

this could be because i was on vicoprofen for pain also. and i'm very ill from something, some kind of infection i don't know what. basically i just wasted god knows how much money on hospitals this week and they have yet to tell me whats wrong with my lungs.

I was on IV rocephin for six weeks, followed by 6 weeks IV doxy. I am still sick a few years later. Looking back, I think it helped me, but at the time, I wasn't sure, so Dr. took me off. I think u need to be on it for at least 6 months. If not, I think it'll make u worse in the long run, by driving the bacteria into cyst forms deeper into your system. This is what I think happened with me.

amk is right .. you need to be on it quite while. Then you run the risk of it taking your gallbladder. And you MUST take cystbusters while in treatment.

I have been on Rocephin 5 1/2 months, and a cyst buster was recently added. I think you need to plan to be on it for awhile. I started with Infuserve and we now mix ourselves to save money. I planned to be on it for at least 10 months, but LLMD may keep me on it if I am still making improvements. It is helping me.

WIGGY - did you suffer from neuro issues and are feeling better from those?

I can't stand the way i feel - or maybe rather don't feel anything at all anymore. my memory is only 'immeidate', my ability to process anything to reach a conclusion is gone. The broader 'deeper' thoughts I used to live in are now gone.

I feel like Lyme has stolen my life from me, and it kills / depresses me to the point where I don't know what do what alternatives I have. Sadly, hari-kari is on my mind more than anyone should have to tolerate.

I have major neuro involvement - MS since 1994, diagnosed with Lyme 2008.

Rocephin is helping, If I am not improving LLMD will switch me on another med.

I am gaining control of muscles I couldn't use before - they are coming back.

It is a slow process, I tried orals for 2 years with small gains.

If I get complete function of left leg in the end it will solve my mobility problems. Currently have a tiny bit more function on left side.

Can now type with left hand - but it comes and goes with herxes
