Lyme Disease Awareness Race Car- A Top Ten Finalist!
Congratulations! Thanks to you, the Lyme Disease Awareness Race Car was not only number one in the Most Votes category, it was selected by the judges to be one of the Top 10 Finalists!
IMPORTANT- Each voter may vote for only one (1) car, one (1) time per day, for 10 days (until May 1, 2011). Please vote!
On May 2, 2011 the Winner Determination phase begins and judges will pick the winner of the grand prize. The winning entry will be publicly announced at the All-Star Races in Charlotte, NC on May 20 and May 21, 2011. (Perfect for May Lyme Disease Awareness Month.)
From Toyota Sponsafier- We're happy to let you know youre a winner in the Toyota Racing's Sponsafy Your Ride Contest Round III! You've won [a] customized helmet featuring your "Sponsafied" car graphics, which has an approximate retail value of $1,250.
The 2011 Racing Lyme Disease Awareness car was designed and entered in the contest in honor of Dr. Charles Ray Jones of New Haven, CT and his kids with Lyme disease. Therefore, the winner's helmet with the Lyme disease awareness design on it, if we are approved pending verification, will be displayed in Dr. Jones office where visitors, parents and his kids can enjoy it.
Again, congratulations for your success in Racing Lyme Disease Awareness and many thanks for voting!

Three rounds ????? I thought it was two rounds.
That would be great if we were ordering drinks
Does anyone know what the "winner determination" critera actually is? Is it votes alone?
I hope the votes are overwhelming for the Lyme Awareness car, I don't think the judges could ignore the votes. But, stranger things have happened lately, right Paul?
Now turning to a positive attitude...what a wonderful place to exhibit the racing helmet in Dr. J's office, especially since the car was a tribute to him and his kids. He certainly deserves it and more for all the children he has helped. I'm sure his kids will love it.
More positives.....Vote, Vote, Vote
Good Job, TC

From what I gathered from the Official Rules ....
It is the same criteria as in the first round of judging. 20% of judging is based on public votes. The other 80% is on design, originality, etc.
Glad you like the idea of Dr. Jones getting the helmet for his kids to see. I thought it would be cute that the kids and their parents could have their pictures made with it while they are there, if they wanted to.
I did hear from someone who said that they thought I would look really good in the helmet, and I thought I might just keep it to prance around in or wear it while doing some house work or errands in town... but when I checked it out...

Just voted for the car, but am concerned that there is a big problem with the site.
Tincup -- the Dr Jones car shows up on both page 1 and page 2 of the finalists -- which means there are only 9 cars being voted on -- whatever car is missing could easily claim the voting was rigged or get the vote count invalidated.
Logged in again and the site looks ok -- I guess it had something to do with the way they rotate the cars around.

No problem with the site this is how they designed it.
it shows the cars randomly the only way to truly make sure your vote gets in is using the link.
as far as the Likes those are not in the contest but do appear on the most likes page.
Revote now and every day for the next 9 days

I am sooo thrilled to hear that we've already won a racing helmet, and that it will go to Dr. Jones!!
It is also such a wonderful thing to see how gracious you've been, Paul, all this contest, and especially since the weirdness when your car was first in then out of the final 10.
Watching you and TinCup work together, and watching everyone work so hard together towards this goal does a heart good.
Now, down to business, which is voting. Sure wish that the contest wasn't timed for 3 days over Easter, but I guess everyone in the top 10 is in the same position as we are, which is lining up the major push for Monday and beyond.
Getting this far is awesome, whtever happens next.

Hoppy Easter to all!
I went to vote today and noticed that...
The white car was in the voting line-up 2 times.
The pink car was there 3 times.
The silver car 2 times.
And the yellow "#11" car 2 times.
At least 5 cars were missing.
This changes around so you may not see it exactly the same as I did at any given time, but to me that seems like a problem- computer glitch?
So, I wrote to the sponsors to see if they could help with the problem. I also asked if we were going to be able to see the number of votes tallied as we go along.
Hope to hear back soon!!! Will let you know if I do!

The website is not working. I also tried www.sponsafier.com - that isn't working either.

I just tried and I can pull up the car to vote- and did- but not the voting line-up page. I get only the LIKES page right now.
My guess is they are working on the computer glitches after getting my email with concerns?
My guess is others probably said something too, but over the holiday weekend no one was able to work on it?
MAYBE we will be able to see the number of votes for all the cars once it is back up, something we couldn't see before... and something I mentioned in my note to them.

That site is so screwed up. When I check the 10 finalists, the 911 dispatcher car showed up twice and the Lyme Awareness car didn't show up at all.
If someone is going to vote from the finalist page, they can't even vote for the Lyme car.
I checked twice and twice it was the same way.

They didn't answer my question about why voting numbers weren't showing up, but did explain the line-up. Not sure I am thrilled about it, but oh well.

Many times I went there over the past few days the site has simply said- sorry, not available, try again later. Geez. Has there ever been a more unprofessional (and frustrating!) national competition???!
Nevertheless, I've voted every day that was at all possible, and hope everyone else is doing the same.

I have no trouble seeing the car either, and of course I'm not weird, so that answers the question Tutu raised, along with her pants.
And I vote about 10x/day for the car - it gets my top 10 votes - don't tell anyone...

I just came here to ask what was up and it seems I am not the only one having trouble viewing the page. I have had no problems voting, thankfully, but when I go to look at the finalists it's messed up.
It doesn't make sense that the finalist don't show up correctly (they say this is supposed to happen?). How can people vote that don't have the link?
I have no trouble sharing on Facebook.
This is kind of discouraging. Do you think the IDSA has anything to do with it?
