I was holding my own (no abx for awhile) and got bite by tick approx 2 weeks ago and have had total relapse!
Started on Doxy within 4 days and saw LLMD last Friday.
Until I have bloodwork done (have to wait approx 1 to 2months-no money) My LLMD said he cannot aggressively restart treatment
(which I TOTALLY understand--I certainly DO NOT want him to do anything that could possibly get him in trouble) we all know how hard a time they have now just trying to treat us.
My problem is I am so sick....totally exhasted 24/7, muscle aches cannot sleep, hot flashes bad again, sore throat, all over nerve tingling, very irriatable ringing in ears are as bad as last year.. many more symptoms (just feel to bad to remember right now)
Obviously, my babasia is raging.
I guess my questions is I know the Doxy wont hit the babasia (I also have bart) and I have some in date Plaquenil I took last year.
I was thinking about adding that but I see where others on post have said it works better with Baxin or Zithromax. ....well I have some of both of them, from previous treatment that I didnt finish when I switched over.
I was wondering if I should drop the doxy and pick up one of the others to take with the plaquenil or if I could take all three at once.
I know the decison is ultimally mine its just I value eveyones opinion here as many of you are so educted on the matter.
I just feel so bad, must still work and would like to start trying to treat myself if possible...I do not know how much of this feeling like this I can take.

Yes...what I have been taking is Doxy 100mg twice a day. Ive been on it for approx 2 weeks. I just didnt know whether I should add the plaquenil and or drop the doxy and add the bactrim ds or zitro along with the plaquenil. I have enough doxy to last me awhile.
I figured at the very least add the plaquenil but I wasnt sure if one of the others might work better in combination with the plaq rather than the doxy.
I also think in eariler post I said I had Baxin but I just looked and what I actually have is Bactrin DS Thanks (:

Can you take more doxy than that? You really should be on 400mg a day if you want to knock this out.
I don't know anything about the combo of plaq and doxy. It's usually plaq and Biaxin or zith.
But doxy will cover possible ehrlichia which can be very dangerous.

I agree, need to take Doxy 200mg twice daily. Anything less is quite ineffective.
