So I've heard that mepron can cause depression, but can it also cause major anxiety??
I've been on it for about 3 weeks and my anxiety level has been astronomical for the few days. I'm normally a pretty laid-back person.
Right now, my 9 year old is at a pool with a friend and his family and I'm on the couch watching through the window, waiting for their car to pull up, my stomach is in knots worrying about him. And he can swim. I just want him home. This is not like me.
I truly hope it's the mepron, and not me developing some new anxiety problem.
Thanks for any insight, Jennie

It is just a herx. I had major anxiety as well as depression when I started Mepron. In fact the LLMD gave me an anti-psychotic just in case I needed it. It got better after about a month.

Thanks nefferdun, I was hoping to hear something like that. I look forward to the day when I am not a nervous wreck. Everything sets me off lately. My brain is on panic overdrive.
I've got some xanax that I take occasionally, but even that doesn't seem to help much these past few days.

I was on Mepron for about one year at a higher dose and it most definately caused anxiety. It was pretty bad. I had some depression as well but for me it was not as big of and issue as the anxiety. Hang in there. It really does get better. The key is sticking with it as much as possible. For me it was the beginning of my ticket to regaining a normal life and better health. Don't give up. The best thing to do is to adjust the dose downward and then gradually build yourself up. I had to do that at first.
