Rifampin supposedly has "flu like syndrome" as one of the side effects if you dose it improperly or intermittantly. Well, darn it, I think it happened to me. Was going along fine and after a busy week of missing a few doses, I started to get - you guessed it, flu like symptoms, a weird sort of flu that felt very much like a drug side effect. Anyway, doc had me stop the drug.

I'm thankful that I made it as far as I did - about 4 weeks, past all herxing, to where it didn't seem like the med was doing much.... so at least it helped me.

But, doc wants to try it on me again sometime, so my question is, have people had success using it a 2nd time around and avoiding the flu like thing?

I've been on rifampin for the 3rd time. This is one of the abx. I seem to tolerate really well for some reason.

I have had times when I feel totally exhausted. Is it herx I have no clue. But i am also treating for viruses right now as well.
