After almost two years of fighting Lyme I have no insurance and no money left. I've been forced to stop all treatment which is what it is. My neurological symptoms have improved greatly but it's clear that I am still not right.

But here is my problem. My girl friend just got real sick with all the typical infection symptoms. We are flat broke at this point and neither of us have insurance. Is there anything I can do to get her treated? I'm at the point where I will just ride it out until I get back on my feet financially but for her this may very well be early stages and if we can stop it before she ends up like me it would be a great thing.

Are there active Lyme studies or anything of that nature which might help her if I we can get her in?

notread,

so sorry to hear this and there may be others who have much better advice that I

still, I thought I'd let you know I care

you may try to get with one of the less expensive LLMDs or ask around, actually that may be cheaper, in my experience - I talk to everyone, so a lady at the bank said her boyfriend is a hunter and got it and a local regular doc prescribed antibiotics, he was not an LLMD and did not charge that huge first appointment fee, just ask around locally for less expensive docs, some do help and more and more people have Lyme now and know what you are talking about

if docs advertise as LLMDs, it seems to me, they follow that very expensive protocol of first apt and lab tests that cost a lot

maybe a "doc in a box" may even give her some docy or minocycline

my generic minocycline pills only cost 36.- for 120 50 mg pills from Costco pharmacy (with prescription, of course) - I take 4 a day so that is about a month's worth of treatment and mino can penetrate the brain and kill spirochetes, I think

it helps with my Bart symptoms, too, but does not kill it, it seems

good luck and I hope something opens up for you!

Do what we all do... start selling whatever you can find around the house. Take out a loan. Whatever it takes to get well.

I have insurance but not they decide not to cover for my meds. So I'm researching other methods that can treat both my daughter and I. It's not easy... but we must keep on keeping on.

The thing about treating with infrared light is that you only have to buy the light once. There are PE1 and Bionic 880 threads that talk about this therapy.

Thanks everyone, this has been really helpful! Right now we are debating between going down to the doctor in a box type thing or the pet store idea. We may be leaning towards the doxy. Is that common for the pet stores to carry? Thanks again everyone!

Check out the salt/c protocol at lymestrategies, It saved my life. Also antiparasitic herbs like Parastroy, Hanna Kroeger, Humworm etc. These are very inexpensive and work over a period of time.

Amazon.com search for Fish-Mox...You can order Doxycycline, Metronidzole (Flagyl), Amoxicillin, Ampicillin, Azithromycin, Cephalexin,Ciprofloxacin, Clindamycin, Ketoconazole, Penicillin VK, Tetracycline...

All stuff is Pharmaceutical grade. I just received my Doxycycline and Flagyl. I compared to my prior CVS Doxycycline and Flagyl. Both Doxycycline were blue marked West Ward 3142. Both Metronidazole were marked Pliva 334.

I took it one step further tracked down the Pharmaceutical companies, called them and verified that yes indeed it is the same product!

And you don't need a script!
