I also like theralac, and also the Genestra/Seroyal brand probiotics.
They are all human derived strains of bacteria, which not all probiotics are.
I'm not really sure where they get the ones that aren't (and not sure I want to know!).
Human derived strains adhere to our GI tracts better which is what my daughters stool test verified.

I tried a bunch of them, including VSL #3. The only thing I've found that works for me is Ultimate Flora (100 billion).

My doc recommends all of the above, but says Prescript-Assist Pro from Researched Nutritionals is the cheapest and best.
Made from dirt (basically) so it doesn't have to stay in the fridge. Lots of different strains, too. Costs about $20 a month to take the equivalent of 200 cfu's a day. (I'm not affiliated with this company)

I have taken a few different types of probiotics and the only one that has really worked for me is VSL#3. I get it at my local Costco. I had to call around to ALOT of places before I could find it locally. It does cost about $48.oo a bottle. There are 60 pills in the bottle and currently I only have to take one a day.
Recently my LLMD told me that I can try to get it through a presription. So they gave me a script to use the next time I get some. But I only have to buy a bottle every other month. But when I was on a heavy load of antibiotics I took 2 a day.
You probably already know this, but do not take your probiotic close to your antibiotic. Take it at least 1 our after you take your antibiotic or the antibiotic could kill all the good guys in the probiotic.

Welcome, Lymetoo! If you order from their website they'll ask your doc's name, but I've seen it other places online with a google search.

I judge by my GI symptoms calming down. Also, a good probioitc gives me a clear head, I think because all of the good bacteria are supposed to be producing important things for us, like b vitamins, immune substances, etc.
I just tried VSL#3 ... stuff is awesome!
