I have IV Rochepin and IV Zith with the new addition of oral Flagyl. Ever since this all started (10/17), I noticed that my weight has gone up and my ankles have been swelling.
LLMD gave me a dieurtic to take 3x a week, but tonight my left ankle is really bugging me. I have desk job so my feet are down all day and I was doing a bunch of errands around the house tonight, but had to stop because my left ankle hurt so much.
I have been on oral abx for the last 2.5 yrs prior to the IV and I never gained weight or had this ankle problem.
I did have slight swelling in my ankle (partly due to an injury) about 6 months before starting IV.
Has anyone else experienced this?

When I added Flagyl to my protocol, I began to wake up with swollen lower legs. This continued for quite some time. I eventually found out that I had another infection which they found in my urine. Once I treated that infection all of the swelling went away.

Haley -- what other infection was found in your urine?
Was the swelling from the infection or the Flagyl?

It turned out that it was due to an infection. I would have never known if I didn't have this urine culture. Months later a doc decided to do a urine culture for other symptoms and the swelling went away. It was a urinary tract infection, I don't remember the specific bacteria.
I have no idea if it had anything to do with the Flagyl, but I remember the swelling started after I started the Flagyl. My body sort of freaked out when I added in the flagyl.
